Thyroid disorders

There are many types of common diseases. When treating some diseases, it is crucial to understand the disease, which is also very helpful for improving the disease. However, thyroid dysfunction is very harmful to human health. When such a problem occurs, the patient must go to the hospital for examination in time to understand all aspects of the patient's body, so that we know what method to choose for treatment.

Thyroid disease is a very common disease. The occurrence of this type of disease also has its own reasons. Therefore, when treating it, you must choose the correct method. So what is the specific situation of thyroid dysfunction?

Thyroid disorders:

1. Hyperthyroidism, also known as hyperthyroidism, refers to a clinical syndrome caused by excessive secretion of thyroid hormones due to various causes. The causes are relatively complex and can be divided into:

(1) Hyperthyroidism, of which Graves' disease is the most common, is a special type of autoimmune thyroid disease, but it is closely related to other autoimmune thyroid diseases, such as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis.

(2) Pituitary hyperthyroidism, such as pituitary TSH tumor.

(3) Paraneoplastic syndrome, such as malignant tumors (lung, stomach, intestine, pancreas, etc.) accompanied by hyperthyroidism (secretion of TSH analogues).

(4) Iatrogenic hyperthyroidism and transient hyperthyroidism, etc.

Symptoms caused by excessive secretion of thyroid hormones may be related to enhanced metabolism, accelerated oxidation, and increased heat dissipation. Patients have symptoms such as fatigue, heat intolerance, sweating, sharp weight loss, palpitations, shortness of breath, increased appetite, tension, anxiety, and irritability. It can also reduce glucose tolerance, aggravate diabetes, lower blood cholesterol, and enhance protein decomposition.

2. Hypothyroidism, also known as hypothyroidism, is a group of endocrine diseases caused by insufficient synthesis, secretion or biological effects of thyroid hormones due to various reasons. According to the age of onset, it can be divided into three types:

① The disease that occurs in fetuses and newborns is called cretinism;

②Those who develop the disease in children are classified as juvenile hypothyroidism;

③ Hypothyroidism that begins in adulthood is called adult-onset hypothyroidism. In severe cases, myxedema may occur in all types.

Causes of hypothyroidism include:

(1) Primary, which is divided into acquired (thyroid gland damage or thyroid hormone synthesis disorder, etc.) and congenital (pregnant women with iodine deficiency or excessive oral antithyroid drugs, fetal thyroxine enzyme abnormalities, congenital thyroid dysplasia, etc.).

(2) Secondary or hypothalamic-pituitary hypothyroidism, which has various causes such as pituitary tumors, hemorrhagic pituitary necrosis after pituitary surgery or radiotherapy, and TSH synthesis disorders;

(3) TSH or thyroxine insensitivity syndrome, such as systemic thyroxine insensitivity due to TSH receptor deficiency.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of thyroid dysfunction. When such a situation occurs, it must be treated in time. It should be noted that during the treatment of such a disease, the patient must make reasonable arrangements in diet and exercise, so that all aspects of themselves can be greatly improved.
