How to correct facial crookedness

A crooked face is quite common in our daily life. We know that the face is one of the most important parts of the human body and is responsible for the important task of communicating with people. If the face is crooked, it will not only easily cause social barriers, but also have a great impact on people's psychology. There are many causes, some are caused by bad habits, and some may be caused by congenital development. According to different symptoms, certain methods can be used to correct it.

How to correct facial crookedness

1. Asymmetry of the cheekbones

If a person's left and right cheekbones are asymmetrical, then the whole face will look crooked or even distorted. Although there are very few people in the world whose faces are exactly the same on both sides, the condition is relatively mild for most people and is almost invisible on the surface. If the cheekbones are excessively asymmetrical, it will affect the appearance and is usually corrected through bone grinding or osteotomy surgery.

2. Asymmetric development of the mandible

If there is asymmetry in the development of the mandible, it can be clearly seen even without opening the mouth. If an X-ray is taken, the deviation of the occlusal midline can also be seen. Surgery is usually used to correct this type of crooked face. The height difference between the upper jaws on both sides is corrected and the operation usually takes about 2 to 5 hours.

A crooked face is caused by poor development of subcutaneous soft tissue, which leads to asymmetry of facial soft tissue. This type of crooked face is caused by asymmetry of muscles, fat and skin. The treatment for this situation is generally through liposuction or autologous fat filling surgery to correct it, mainly targeting fat asymmetry; the enlarged side of the face can also be slimmed down through methods such as face-slimming injections and removal of expression muscles.
