What medicine to take for pleurisy

Due to the development of medical technology and network technology, a large number of people in daily life will choose to check relevant symptoms online or consult online doctors when they are sick, and then go to some pharmacies to pick up the medicine by themselves, which is convenient and saves time. So, what medicine should be taken for pleurisy? Many people may not know what disease pleurisy is. Chest pain is the most common symptom of pleurisy.

Coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath are common phenomena in our lives, especially in the summer when the weather is extremely hot. People are always accustomed to hiding in air-conditioned rooms, and going back and forth between air-conditioned rooms and the hot outside environment causes these phenomena to occur frequently. Many people do not take them seriously, but it is possible that these symptoms are pleurisy. So, what medicine should I take for pleurisy?

Pleurisy, also known as "pleurisy", is an inflammation of the pleura. The first step in treatment is to drain the pleural effusion and have it tested to confirm the result. Then the anti-tuberculosis drugs such as isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol, and pyrazinamide should be taken. Isoniazid and dexamethasone can also be injected into the chest cavity while draining the effusion to enhance the therapeutic effect and prevent pleural adhesion. Pleurisy can be treated with hormones: combined with anti-tuberculosis drugs, it has a positive therapeutic effect on eliminating systemic toxic symptoms, promoting absorption of effusion, and preventing pleural thickening and adhesion. You can take 15-30 mg of prednisone orally in 3 divided doses. When the systemic symptoms improve and the absorption of the effusion is significantly reduced, the dosage can be gradually reduced. The medication is generally used for 4-6 weeks.

The general principle of treatment of tuberculous pleurisy is early, combined, regular and full-course. There are not many types of anti-tuberculosis drugs, and they are easy to resist. The main ones are isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol, pyrazine, streptomycin, and some second-line drugs. At the same time, corticosteroids can be added to tuberculous pleurisy. Some treatments, including acupuncture, can relieve the discomfort caused by pleurisy and exudate. The Chinese medicine ephedra is an effective bronchodilator that helps calm breathing, but be careful: large doses of ephedra have the same effect as large doses of adrenaline. If you have high blood pressure or heart disease, do not use this Chinese medicine. Mix 5 grams of ephedra, 4 grams of cinnamon, 1.5 grams of licorice, and 5 grams of almonds, soak in cold water for a few minutes, and then boil it to drink.

We should pay attention to any disease. Most families have emergency medicines for common diseases such as colds and fevers. However, not all diseases can be treated by searching the Internet for information and buying medicines by yourself. This is irresponsible for your own health.
