Can cirrhosis of the liver be cured?

The liver is an important detoxification organ in the human body, but long-term drinking and not paying attention to diet are likely to lead to cirrhosis, especially for people who often drink excessively, the possibility of developing cirrhosis is very high. Cirrhosis is also difficult to treat, and in the later stages it can easily affect the patient's life. Therefore, many patients are very eager to know whether cirrhosis can be cured?

Although there are many methods to treat liver cirrhosis, no one method can guarantee that the patient can be completely cured. Only by actively using medication combined with daily care can the physical harm caused by liver cirrhosis to patients be reduced.

Can cirrhosis be cured? If you are a patient with early-stage cirrhosis, choosing a regular hospital for active treatment may lead to reversal of the disease. If the patient has advanced liver cirrhosis, the possibility of cure is very small. Death often occurs in late-stage cirrhosis due to complications. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is the most common complication of cirrhosis, with a high mortality rate, while hepatic encephalopathy is the most common cause of death in cirrhosis. And quite a number of primary liver cancers occur on the basis of cirrhosis. Therefore, in the late stage of cirrhosis, active treatment is needed to control complications.

Can cirrhosis of the liver be cured? What are the treatments for cirrhosis of the liver?

(1) Improving liver function: This is the most basic method for treating liver cirrhosis. It has a very good effect by fundamentally improving liver function. Abnormalities in transaminase and bilirubin in liver function often reveal liver cell damage. It should be treated in accordance with the treatment principles of hepatitis, with a combination of Chinese and Western medicine. Rationally use drugs such as vitamin C, B vitamins, Gardenia odorata, Astragalus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Cordyceps sinensis, Lingzhi and Poria polysaccharide.

(II) Actively prevent and treat complications: There are many complications of cirrhosis clinically. After the patient is diagnosed, the first thing to think about should be to prevent the occurrence of complications. There are more complications in the decompensated stage of cirrhosis, which can lead to serious consequences. For complications such as esophageal varices, ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, and concurrent infections, choose effective methods based on the patient's specific conditions.

(III) Anti-liver fibrosis treatment: Liver fibrosis is a late symptom of liver cirrhosis. The occurrence of liver fibrosis means that the condition has become more serious. In recent years, domestic research has achieved good results in the treatment of liver fibrosis and early liver cirrhosis using drugs such as Astragalus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and hepatocyte growth factor. The efficacy of penicillamine is uncertain and there are many adverse reactions, so its use is not generally recommended. Colchicine also has a certain effect in preventing liver fibrosis.

Now that we know that cirrhosis can be cured, for patients with early-stage cirrhosis, it is important to actively treat the pathogen that causes it to prevent it from continuing to deteriorate and posing a threat to your life. In addition, in order to ensure the treatment effect of cirrhosis, you must quit drinking and smoking. Only by doing this can you ensure that your treatment of cirrhosis is effective.
