When it comes to osmotic pressure, many friends said that they don’t know what it specifically represents. In fact, osmotic pressure is mainly used to maintain a certain balance between blood vessels and cells. Only when the osmotic pressure is normal can the blood concentration in the human body be normal. Therefore, if you discover low osmotic pressure during a physical examination, you must pay attention to tracing the pathogen and conducting active treatment to protect your body from disease. Moreover, if the osmotic pressure is too low, it can easily cause edema in the human body. Therefore, if you always have edema, it is recommended that you go to the hospital to check the osmotic pressure to see if it is within the normal range. If it is too low, it is better to take treatment measures. Osmotic pressure refers to the water absorption force of solute molecules passing through a semipermeable membrane. Its magnitude depends on the number of solute particles and has nothing to do with the molecular weight, radius and other characteristics of the solute. Since the number of crystal solutes in plasma is much greater than the number of colloids, the plasma osmotic pressure is mainly composed of crystal osmotic pressure. Plasma colloidal osmotic pressure is mainly composed of protein molecules, among which plasma albumin has a smaller molecular weight and a larger number (albumin>globulin>fibrinogen), which determines the size of plasma colloidal osmotic pressure. The decrease in plasma colloid osmotic pressure is due to a decrease in plasma protein. Among them, albumin is the most important factor determining the plasma osmotic pressure. Causes of decreased albumin: ① Reduced synthesis is seen in malnutrition resulting in a lack of synthetic raw materials or severe liver dysfunction resulting in a low ability to synthesize albumin. ② Excessive loss is seen in nephrotic syndrome. Due to severe damage to the glomerular basement membrane, a large amount of albumin is lost in the urine. ③ Increased decomposition: Malignant tumors, chronic infections, etc. enhance the metabolism of albumin. ④Hemodilution occurs when sodium and water retention in the body or excessive infusion of non-colloidal solutions reduces the plasma albumin concentration. The decrease in plasma osmotic pressure reduces the effective osmotic pressure, and the average actual filtration pressure increases, resulting in an increase in interstitial fluid production. Now that we know what low osmotic pressure is, we would also like to remind all friends that the main cause of low osmotic pressure is generally malnutrition. That is to say, if you want to prevent low osmotic pressure, you only need to pay attention to consuming more nutritious foods. However, if low osmotic pressure has already occurred, it is recommended that you take regular treatment methods. |
