Viral cold symptoms

There are many types of colds. Do you know about viral colds? Nowadays, many people's cold symptoms are caused by viruses. Such cold symptoms are very serious and sometimes difficult to treat. Generally, viral colds develop rapidly and are easily contagious. Many people will get sick in a short period of time. Let us learn about the symptoms of viral colds.

Viral colds are very common. If a viral cold occurs, other people in the family will also have cold symptoms, and the symptoms of fever will be very obvious. We must pay attention to the symptoms of viral colds. If someone in the family has cold symptoms, we must seek timely treatment.

Viral cold, also known as upper respiratory tract infection, is a common respiratory infectious disease caused by a variety of viruses. The main symptoms of viral colds include sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, dry throat, sore throat, cough, hoarseness, etc.

The causes of viral colds include catching cold, being caught in the rain, excessive fatigue, malnutrition, etc. The patient's mucus, saliva, and sputum contain viruses, which are spread into the air through sneezing, coughing, and talking, infecting others. Healthy people may also get sick by being infected with the virus due to contact with the patient's towels, washbasins or tableware.

The main symptoms of viral colds include sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, dry throat, sore throat, cough, hoarseness, etc. Systemic symptoms include headache, body aches, fatigue, loss of appetite, or no fever, or low fever, or high fever, chills and other symptoms.

Patients with viral colds need to rest in bed, keep warm and reduce activity. The residence should be ventilated frequently and maintained at a certain temperature and humidity. Drink plenty of water and eat light and soft food. Avoid smoking and drinking to avoid irritating the respiratory and digestive tract mucosa and aggravating symptoms. Avoid greasy and fried foods, and eat less or no fish, meat, or other fishy foods. When the fever is high, you can wipe your body with cold or warm water (the water temperature should be 32~34℃), or wipe the neck, armpits, groin, etc. with 30%~50% alcohol, or put an ice pack on your head.

Viral cold

Colds are usually divided into viral colds and bacterial colds. Or the common cold and influenza.

Viral colds include: common cold, influenza, and viral pharyngitis.

Bacterial colds include: bacterial pharyngitis and tonsillitis.

The main difference is the pathogenic factors. Viral colds are caused by viruses, while bacterial colds are caused by bacteria.

Influenza is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza virus. The virus exists in the patient's respiratory tract and is transmitted to others through droplets when the patient coughs or sneezes. Influenza is highly contagious. Because the virus mutates easily, even people who have had the flu will still be infected the next time a flu epidemic occurs, so influenza can easily cause an epidemic outbreak. Generally, there are more chances of influenza spreading in winter and spring, and 20% to 40% of people may be infected with influenza each time.

The symptoms of simple influenza are: sudden chills, fever, headache, body aches, nasal congestion, runny nose, dry cough, chest pain, nausea, loss of appetite. Infants, children, or the elderly may develop pneumonia or heart failure. Patients with toxic influenza will suffer from high fever, delirium, coma, convulsions, which can sometimes be fatal. Because the disease is highly contagious, it should be isolated and treated early.

The common cold, commonly known as the common cold, is caused by rhinovirus, coronavirus and parainfluenza virus. These viruses exist in the patient's respiratory tract and are transmitted to others through droplets. The common cold is much less contagious than influenza. People are more likely to get sick when they catch a cold, get caught in the rain, or are overly tired because their resistance is reduced. Therefore, the common cold often occurs individually, and rarely occurs in large numbers like during an influenza epidemic.

When the common cold occurs, most patients have a low fever and rarely a high fever. The patient suffers from nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, headache, body aches, fatigue and weakness. The symptoms are milder than those of influenza and do not threaten life.

Viral colds can have many impacts on us. Generally, viral colds are caused by bacteria and viruses. Viral colds can also be influenza colds and common colds. Everyone should pay attention to the viral cold symptoms we introduced above. If similar symptoms appear in normal times, you should seek timely examination and treatment.
