Can acupuncture be used to treat shoulder pain?

When the body is tired, the shoulders will feel sore, which can often be relieved by getting enough rest. However, some friends’ shoulder pain is pathological and may not be relieved even after a long rest. In this case, medication or other methods are needed for treatment. So, can acupuncture be used to relieve shoulder pain?

Acupuncture can be used to promote blood circulation. For shoulder pain, pay attention to exercise and do physical exercises every day: wall climbing exercises, circle drawing, and wheel pulling exercises.

Relaxing posture for shoulder sensor point 1: shawl

Stand in a relaxed position, bend your elbows, and raise your forearms horizontally in front of you, keeping them comfortable. Because the action is like pulling a shawl onto the shoulders, this position is often called "shawl".

If you do this pose lying on your back, stay comfortable and keep your arms relaxed. Hold this position for 2 minutes. Applying slight pressure to the shoulder joint with your elbow can help relieve tension more quickly. At this point, you need to use your other arm to gently push your elbow toward your shoulder.

Lean your elbows against the wall and press from your elbows to your shoulders. If standing, raise your upper arms across the front and drape the imaginary shawl in front of you. Then lean your elbows against the wall and feel the pressure from your elbows into your shoulder joints, pushing your shoulders back slightly. Pay attention to see whether the loosening, throbbing or soreness in the coracoid process disappears during the process.

Shoulder sensor point 2 relaxation posture

Stand relaxed with your body sideways facing a wall, raise your arms to shoulder height, with your upper arms and torso at right angles, and your elbows resting on the wall.

When you feel the gentle pressure from your elbow passing through your upper arm to your shoulder joint, remember to relax all the muscles in your shoulders and below your neck when you lean against the wall. For best results, combine with the First Rib Relaxation pose.
