Treatments for osteoporosis

Treatments for osteoporosis

In our daily lives, we may notice this phenomenon: many middle-aged and elderly people particularly like to bask in the sun, especially in winter. The reason is that middle-aged and elderly people have a serious lack of calcium in their bodies due to their old age or other reasons, so they often go out to bask in the sun to promote the body's absorption of calcium. In addition to the elderly, the same is true for normal people. If they lack calcium, the body will show symptoms of osteoporosis.

Most people believe that osteoporosis is a disease that only the elderly will suffer from, but this view is actually wrong. That's right. The elderly are more likely to suffer from osteoporosis, but other people may also suffer from osteoporosis due to related reasons. So. What effective treatments should people take when they accidentally get osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is mainly divided into primary and secondary. In addition to idiopathic primary osteoporosis, it is divided into type I and type II. Type I, also known as postmenopausal osteoporosis, is a high-conversion type, and its main cause is estrogen deficiency; type II, also known as senile osteoporosis, is a low-conversion type due to aging. Osteoporosis is caused by many factors. Its basic pathological mechanism is the defect in the coupling of bone absorption and bone formation during bone metabolism, which leads to an imbalance in calcium-phosphorus metabolism in the human body and a gradual decrease in bone density, causing clinical symptoms.

There are currently two medical methods for treating osteoporosis:

1. Medication

The drugs used clinically to prevent and treat osteoporosis include: calcium preparations, including Yide Le, Kaisili, Calcium D, Leli, calcium gluconate oral solution, Longchang Calcium + D oral solution, Jinde Calcium, Juneng Calcium and Ultrafine Calcium; drugs that inhibit bone resorption, such as Dehydrogenase, Bemarle Tablets and Livial; bisphosphonates, such as Fosamax, Gulin, Bondelin and Jilishuning; osteogenic therapeutic drugs, such as Telodid; vitamin drugs that promote mineralization, such as Faneng (lα-hydroxyvitamin D3), Luocaiquan (calcitriol), Menggewang (alfacalcidol), and Liqing (alfacalcidol tablets).

2. Surgical treatment

Only after a fracture due to osteoporosis is surgical treatment required, its purpose is to heal the fracture and restore normal function as soon as possible.

Of course, in addition to the two methods of treating osteoporosis introduced above, I believe there are many other treatment methods that have not yet been discovered. If friends have osteoporosis, don’t be overly nervous or worry too much. Correct your attitude, go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible, and cooperate with the doctor for treatment after the diagnosis. Of course, while undergoing treatment, you should also do proper physical exercise.
