What is a rash?

Rash is a skin lesion in medicine. Many diseases can cause rashes. There are many different forms of rashes, some of which are simply a change in skin color, while others may include not only a change in skin color but also raised bumps or even blisters. The rash is mostly red particles or patches, some large and some small.

Some rashes are accompanied by itching symptoms, while others are neither painful nor itchy. The rash is divided into types such as macules, papules, urticaria, and roseola. The different shapes and characteristics of the rash can often be used to diagnose the disease, which is especially helpful for the diagnosis of acute infectious diseases. The condition of the rash can be used as the basis for taking corresponding treatment measures for related diseases.

However, modern medicine has discovered that taking certain medications or using cosmetics improperly may cause rashes, and the characteristics are very similar to rashes caused by certain diseases, so special attention must be paid to identification, and other indicators must also be used to accurately determine the cause. Extremely serious diseases such as lupus erythematosus, measles, scarlet fever, and typhoid can cause rashes.

Once a rash appears, do not scratch it, especially the papules and blisters. Even the slightest damage to these areas can cause infection. To prevent unconscious scratching at night, try to wear gloves before going to bed. At the same time, special attention should be paid to the cleaning of the skin and mucous membranes. In terms of diet, try not to eat very irritating foods or overly greasy foods.

You should also eat less foods that may cause allergies, such as fish and shrimp. You should also pay attention to the clothes you wear in daily life, especially close-fitting underwear. Try to choose soft and non-irritating pure cotton clothes instead of chemical fiber ones. Be sure to ensure adequate rest and good sleep, and don't be too nervous. As long as you take active prevention measures, detect it early and treat it early, the rash is nothing to be afraid of.
