What is fibroid?

Many friends do not know what fibroma is, but women must have heard of breast fibroma. In fact, different parts of the human body contain fibers. The so-called fibroma is a benign tumor in these parts. It usually grows under the skin, and the growth rate of fibroma is relatively slow. However, this does not mean that it is not harmful.

When fibroids occur, there are no age or sexually transmitted disease restrictions. Due to the special physiological characteristics of women, there is a possibility of breast fibroids. However, fibroids are not exclusive to women. This article provides a detailed analysis of what fibroids are.

Fibroma is a benign tumor derived from fibrous connective tissue. There are different types of fibroma due to the different components contained in it. Because fibrous connective tissue is widely distributed in the human body and constitutes the gaps between organs, fibroma can occur anywhere in the body. The skin and subcutaneous tissue are the most common, and it can also occur in the fascia, periosteum, nasopharynx and other mucosal tissues, as well as other organs such as breast, ovary, and kidney. They vary in size and grow slowly.

Single neurofibroma protrudes from the skin surface and can be felt subcutaneously. It may be round, nodular, or fusiform in shape. The texture can be both soft and hard, with most being softer. It is more common in adults and less common in children. The clinical manifestations and histopathology of solitary neurofibromas are the same as those of multiple neurofibromas. The lumps are multiple and the number varies, ranging from a few to hundreds or thousands, which are difficult to count.

Some are as small as rice grains, some are as big as fists, and some can even weigh more than ten kilograms. It can hang loosely on the skin surface, and wrinkles and looseness can cause obvious deformity. When neurofibromas grow along the direction of nerve trunks, they appear as rosary-like or earthworm-like nodules. In addition, coffee spots may appear on the skin of neurofibroma. They may vary in size and may be small dots like freckles or large patches. Their distribution has nothing to do with the distribution of the neurofibroma masses.

After knowing what fibroids are, I hope that all of my friends can take some precautions against this disease. Especially for women, they must pay attention to breast care in daily life to avoid the occurrence of breast fibroids. Otherwise, it will have a more serious impact on your life. I also hope that all of my friends can pay enough attention to fibroid diseases.
