What to do if you have gastric bleeding

Gastric bleeding is caused by many reasons, and this type of gastric bleeding is also divided into acute gastric bleeding and chronic gastric bleeding. Drinking alcohol frequently or drinking a lot of alcohol at one time occasionally may cause gastric bleeding. It’s just that many people don’t notice it and think there’s no problem. Some people may even vomit blood in severe cases, which is a relatively serious condition. So in daily life, you should pay attention to your health and not drink too much.

When it comes to gastric bleeding, many people don’t know what to do at the first moment, so once the wrong treatment method is taken, the consequences will become more serious. Therefore, we must learn some effective treatment measures to ensure that we can take the correct approach to deal with this situation after it occurs.

General treatment for gastric bleeding

The diagnosis of acute gastric bleeding is mainly based on acute massive hematemesis and black stools. Generally, the bleeding does not exceed 500 ml, and most of the cases are vomiting blood, but some cases are bloody stool. The patient feels nauseous before vomiting blood, feels the urge to defecate before having bloody stools, and has black eyes, panic attacks, and even fainting after defecation. The patient looks pale, is thirsty, has a rapid and weak pulse, and has low blood pressure. Patients with ulcer disease often experience regular upper abdominal pain, which can be relieved by alkaline drugs. X-ray barium meal examination is of great significance in the diagnosis of ulcer disease. In addition to the possibility of feeling a mass, gastric cancer patients also have obvious symptoms such as loss of appetite, upper abdominal discomfort, indigestion, and weight loss, and the disease progresses rapidly. X-ray barium meal examination and gastroscopy can help to confirm the diagnosis. Patients with acute ulcers caused by drugs or stress ulcers caused by trauma usually have a history of long-term oral administration of aspirin, cortisone and other drugs, or have recently undergone major surgery or suffered severe burns.

Most patients with acute gastric bleeding can be treated with non-surgical methods. Specific measures include blood transfusion, infusion, and the use of various hemostatic drugs through different routes. Surgery may be considered for bleeding caused by gastric cancer and gastric bleeding that cannot be controlled by the above treatment measures.

Treatment methods for gastric bleeding

Application of hemostatic agents: ① Choose Anluoxue hemostatic agent or hemostatic aromatic acid as appropriate, add it to the rehydration solution and drip it; ② Infuse norepinephrine or thrombin at a concentration of 80 mg/L through the gastric tube; ③ Local hemostasis under gastroscopy can use spray hemostatic agents, such as 80 mg/L norepinephrine or thrombin; or inject hemostatic agents, such as 1-2 mg of epinephrine added to 10 ml of 10% saline, for point injection; or high-frequency electrocoagulation hemostasis; or microwave hemostasis; or laser hemostasis.

Since this disease often occurs in winter, patients with this disease should pay attention to keeping warm in winter, especially when the temperature changes suddenly. In terms of diet, you can eat on time, have regular meals, and maintain a moderate level of cold and heat. The food should be easily digestible, nutritious and less residue. The food should be cooked softly. Eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins. Quit smoking and drinking, and avoid spicy, dry, and fried foods to prevent heat and irritation. And pay attention to regulating your emotions and keeping a happy and open-minded mood. If the original symptoms worsen, be alert and seek medical attention promptly.

The above introduces relevant treatment methods, and I believe they will be of great help to everyone. If you find that your friends have gastric bleeding, you can advise them to follow the above methods, which should be able to treat the gastric bleeding in time. Then in the future life, we must also take relevant preventive measures to avoid the discovery of gastric bleeding.
