Blockade injection is also a common treatment method. Blockade therapy is to use a certain dose of anesthetic drugs to inject into the local tissue to relieve pain. It is a common emergency treatment method. For ordinary people, we can often see athletes getting such blockade injections. There are also many drugs used in blockade, such as procaine, glucocorticoids, etc.

Commonly used blockade drugs 1. Procaine has a good local anesthetic effect. Local injection can block the conduction of various nerve endings and nerve trunks 1 to 3 minutes after injection, thereby inhibiting sensations such as pain, touch, and pressure. If the dosage and action time are sufficient, it can also inhibit motor nerves. At the same time, it can dilate local blood vessels and make them easily absorbed into the blood. Local anesthetics last only 30 to 45 minutes. Procaine does not undergo physical or chemical reaction when mixed with glucocorticoids, so it can be used for blockade therapy. 2. The local anesthetic effect of lidocaine is twice as strong as that of procaine, the duration of anesthesia is twice as long, and the toxicity is correspondingly increased. It has strong penetration and diffusion, and is mainly used for block anesthesia and epidural anesthesia. It also has antiarrhythmic effects, has a good effect on ventricular arrhythmias, has a short duration of action, is non-accumulative, and can be used repeatedly without inhibiting myocardial contractility, and therapeutic doses do not lower blood pressure. 3. Glucocorticoids have anti-inflammatory effects, can inhibit inflammation, reduce congestion, reduce the permeability of the body's capillaries, inhibit inflammatory infiltration and exudation, inhibit the proliferation of fibroblasts and the formation of granulation tissue, and prevent inflammatory adhesions and scars. In addition, it also has anti-poisoning, anti-allergic, and anti-shock effects. This product is more of an artificial synthetic product. It has a strong metabolic effect on sugar and a weak metabolic effect on sodium and potassium. It mainly affects the metabolism of sugar and protein. It is particularly effective in fighting inflammation. It is used in the closed treatment of lumbar disc herniation, mainly for its anti-inflammatory effect.

Note: 1. Before the operation, you should be familiar with the local anatomy of the injection site and draw back blood during injection to avoid damaging nerves and injecting into blood vessels. 2. Identify the injection site. For fasciitis, only the tender fascia should be blocked. For tenosynovitis, the drug should be injected into the sheath. For tendinitis, the tendon in the tender area and its attached bones should be blocked. For bursitis, the drug should be injected into the diseased bursa. 3. Pay attention to strict aseptic operation to prevent infection within the tendon sheath or within the closed area. 4. Use medication rationally. The injection site is sealed accurately according to the prescribed dosage and method, and a small amount of medicine can be effective. If closed treatment is required again, there should be an interval of 1 to 2 weeks. Repeated use of glucocorticoids will aggravate the degeneration of tendons and ligaments.

5. Generally, if the occlusion site is accurate, tenderness and pain will disappear immediately. If the blockade is performed in an area with high tension, or if there is bleeding in the blocked area, the pain will increase, especially on the evening of the day of the blockade. The pain will gradually disappear after the swelling subsides. 6. If swelling, redness or heat occurs within a short period of time after injection, be alert to infection.
