The flowers are solitary in the leaf axils at the end of the branches, with pedicels 5-8 cm long, smooth and glabrous, slightly glaucous; bracts 12, linear, about 2.5 cm long, 1-2 mm wide, smooth and glabrous, slightly connate at the base; calyx large, leaf-like, bell-shaped, 3-4 cm in diameter, about 4 cm long, with 5 lobes, ovate-lanceolate, smooth and glabrous, connate at 1/3 of the base; petals rose red to magenta, obovate, 7-8 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, sparsely pubescent on the outside; stamen column about 7 cm long; style branches 5, pubescent.

The capsule is nearly spherical, glabrous, about 2 cm in diameter, with a short beak at the end, and 5 glabrous valves; the seeds are spherical, about 3 mm in diameter, sparsely covered with brown fine hairs. Flowering period is August.
