Traditional Chinese medicine believes that menstrual disorders are related to kidney function, spleen, liver, qi and blood, uterus, etc., and dysmenorrhea can be divided into cold, heat, deficiency and excess, and can be classified according to the pain sensation. Drinking hot drinks will reduce the pain, which is due to cold; aggravating the pain is due to heat; those who like to press and rub are weak; and those who feel more pain the more they press are due to heat.

People with dysmenorrhea should avoid eating raw, cold, spicy and sour foods, and prefer light and easy-to-digest foods. Patients with dysmenorrhea should have a diversified diet and should not be picky eaters. They should regularly eat vegetables and fruits that have the effect of regulating qi and promoting blood circulation, such as shepherd's purse, orchid root, coriander, carrots, oranges, bergamot, ginger, etc. People who are weak and have insufficient qi and blood should eat foods that replenish qi, blood, liver and kidneys regularly, such as chicken, duck, fish, eggs, milk, animal liver and kidneys, fish, beans, etc.

The following are several dietary recipes for dysmenorrhea: 1. For the Qi deficiency and weak blood type, stewed mutton with Angelica and Astragalus: 50 grams of Angelica, 500 grams of mutton, 30 grams of Astragalus, eat the meat and drink the soup.

2. For liver and kidney deficiency type, cook Chuanxiong and Salvia miltiorrhiza with eggs: 6 grams of Chuanxiong, 12 grams of Salvia miltiorrhiza, two eggs, add water and cook until the eggs are cooked, peel them and cook for a while, eat the eggs and drink the soup.

3. Cold stagnation and blood stasis type: ginger and brown sugar water: 15 grams of ginger, appropriate amount of brown sugar, brew with boiling water as tea.

4. For Qi stagnation and blood stasis type, boil eggs with motherwort: 30 grams of motherwort, two eggs, add water and cook until the eggs are cooked. Cook for a while longer, eat the eggs and drink the soup. 5. Damp-heat type: loofah and brown sugar soup: 250 grams of old loofah, clean and chop, add appropriate amount of brown sugar, boil the soup and drink it while it is hot
