Will I get a fever after getting the meningococcal vaccine?

In winter and spring, the incidence of meningococcal disease is very high, and the patients are generally children. Since the 1960s, China has developed a vaccine for meningococcal disease, and since then, the prelude to the meningococcal vaccine has been opened. Vaccination with meningococcal vaccine can play a certain preventive role. Meningococcal vaccine generally has a short-term effect, and the longest period can reach 2 or 3 years, and can play a certain role.

Generally, vaccines are accompanied by adverse reactions or side effects, and there are some people who are not suitable for them. The meningococcal vaccine is given to resist the invasion of the disease bacteria, but what are the accompanying symptoms? For example, will the meningococcal vaccine cause a fever? Let's take a look.

After vaccination with the meningococcal vaccine, the reaction is mild, and there are generally no serious local or systemic reactions. After vaccination, some children may experience local redness and mild pain for 1 to 2 days; systemic reactions include low-grade fever, with 1% to 4% of recipients experiencing a fever exceeding 38.5°C; allergic reactions may occasionally occur. Most recipients experience symptoms 10 to 24 hours after vaccination and generally recover on their own within 1 to 2 days. Symptomatic treatment may be provided if necessary.

1) After opening the vaccine bottle, add 5 ml of the attached diluent to each vial to dissolve it, shake well and use immediately; 2) Do not use if the ampoule is broken or there is foreign matter in the bottle; 3) Stay at the vaccination unit for 30 minutes after vaccination, observe the child's reaction, and leave if there is no abnormality; 4) Rest properly after vaccination, drink plenty of boiled water, keep warm, and avoid strenuous activities.

Contraindications: 1) People with nervous system diseases such as epilepsy, convulsions, brain diseases, and a history of allergies;

2) Fever and acute illness;

3) The active stage of chronic diseases such as kidney disease, heart disease and active pulmonary tuberculosis.

Pay more attention to the contraindications, adverse reactions and precautions of the meningococcal vaccine. This will be helpful for the health of children. Children have low resistance and cannot resist the strong attack of pathogens well. This requires the help of parents, so it is always good to pay attention to the adverse reactions of this vaccine.
