Causes of Lead Poisoning

Causes of Lead Poisoning

Nowadays people live in an environment full of pollution, and it is almost impossible to find a city that has fresh air like before. Due to environmental pollution, various poisoning incidents may occur in our lives. Now I will introduce to you a kind of lead poisoning. Lead is a chemical element, and children, in particular, are very susceptible to lead poisoning. So what is the cause of lead poisoning?

We know that lead is a chemical element, so there are things in our daily life that contain a lot of lead, such as the paint used at home, which is dangerous. Children like to eat randomly, which leads to lead poisoning. The causes of lead poisoning are introduced below, please be sure to read carefully:

Infant poisoning is often caused by licking lead-containing powder on the mother's face, sucking lead-containing ointment applied to the mother's nipples, and breast milk of mothers with lead poisoning. When children's deciduous teeth erupt, they often like to chew things, and can be poisoned by gnawing on lead-containing paint on bed frames, toys, etc. Children with pica can cause lead poisoning by swallowing large amounts of paint falling off floors or walls. Lead poisoning can also occur from eating acidic food or drinking food cooked or placed in lead vessels (tinware and inferior pottery glaze or enamel all contain lead), eating water and food contaminated with lead, and leaving leftover canned food in tin cans and storing it in the refrigerator.

Accidental ingestion of excessive amounts of lead-containing medicines such as Yangxianfeng Pills, Red Lead, Black Tin Dan, and Myrrh can cause acute poisoning. Lead poisoning can also be absorbed through the respiratory tract. For example, lead-containing talcum powder (which can be inhaled by infants) and smoke containing lead compounds produced by burning battery tubes can cause inhalation poisoning in infants and young children. Children living in an environment surrounded by lead dust can often inhale a certain amount of lead. Lead industry workers bring home contaminated dust from their work clothes for a long time, which can cause their children to often inhale dust containing lead poisoning and develop symptomatic lead poisoning.

Through the above introduction to the causes of lead poisoning, I believe everyone has a more detailed understanding of lead poisoning. If your child is really lead poisoned, it is a very bad thing, so you must take good care of your children. Do not use too much lead-containing paint in your home, and pay attention to children’s toys and do not let them eat anything they want. I wish all children grow up healthily.
