Chronic gastroenteritis is a common symptom for many of us. It takes a certain amount of time to treat chronic gastroenteritis, and chronic gastroenteritis is prone to recurrence, so it brings difficulty to our treatment of chronic gastroenteritis. However, we still need to learn more about chronic gastroenteritis, which will help us prevent and treat chronic gastroenteritis. Chronic gastroenteritis requires us to pay attention to daily care. In the process of treating chronic gastroenteritis, we must do a good job of dietary care for chronic gastroenteritis. It takes slow conditioning to cure chronic gastroenteritis. The most common symptoms of this disease are stomach pain and a feeling of fullness, which are especially aggravated after meals and more comfortable on an empty stomach. Although the amount of food eaten each time is not much, one still feels too full and uncomfortable, often accompanied by belching, acid reflux, heartburn, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, indigestion, etc. Due to poor food intake and indigestion, malnutrition, weight loss, anemia and weakness may occur. Some patients also have neurological symptoms such as mental tension, irritability, insomnia, palpitations, forgetfulness, etc. These phenomena in turn can aggravate the gastric symptoms of chronic gastritis, forming a vicious circle, making the disease complicated and difficult to cure. When doing gastric juice analysis, the gastric acidity of patients with chronic superficial gastritis is often normal or slightly low, while the gastric acidity of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis is significantly reduced and may be accompanied by anemia (hemoglobin is lower than normal). Gastroscopy plus gastric biopsy pathological examination can confirm whether it is superficial or atrophic gastritis; during gastroscopy, gastric biopsy tissue can also be taken for a test to see if there is Helicobacter pylori infection. Generally speaking, the prognosis of chronic superficial gastritis and simple mild chronic atrophic gastritis is good. Chronic atrophic gastritis was once considered a prelude to gastric cancer (precancerous lesions). Now it seems that this understanding is biased. However, atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer do have a certain relationship, based on the following: 1. Studies have shown that it is a recognized fact that patients with atrophic gastritis who undergo endoscopic biopsy and have two types of gastric mucosal lesions, "colonic intestinal metaplasia" and "atypical hyperplasia", may develop gastric cancer. 2. Epidemiological surveys show that the incidence of atrophic gastritis is high among people in areas with a high incidence of gastric cancer. 3. Pathological examination revealed that atrophic lesions were common in the mucosa surrounding gastric cancer. Moderate to severe atrophic gastritis, especially atrophic gastritis accompanied by colonic metaplasia or atypical hyperplasia on pathological examination, is a precancerous lesion. If not treated actively and properly maintained, it is more likely to develop into gastric cancer. Therefore, chronic atrophic gastritis requires regular endoscopic review: general chronic atrophic gastritis should be reviewed once every three years, those with incomplete colonic intestinal metaplasia with mild atypical hyperplasia should be reviewed once a year, those with moderate atypical hyperplasia should be reviewed once every three months, and those with severe atypical hyperplasia (cancerous rate of more than 10%) should be considered as cancerous and can be treated with surgical resection. Only active treatment, lifestyle adjustments and regular check-ups can make the lesions improve or stop developing, thus preventing the occurrence of gastric cancer. Even if the disease progresses, if you insist on regular gastroscopy examinations, you can detect it in time. Preventive resection of gastric lesions or resection of early gastric cancer is still a thorough cure with very good results. Therefore, as long as you actively receive treatment, adjust your lifestyle, and have regular check-ups, then the initiative is in your own hands. In this way, what is there to be afraid of with chronic atrophic gastritis? Above we introduced what chronic gastroenteritis is. We know that chronic gastroenteritis is prone to recurrence and treatment requires a certain amount of time, so we must recognize the symptoms of chronic gastroenteritis, so that we can detect chronic gastroenteritis in time and take appropriate measures to treat chronic gastroenteritis.
