Seasonal allergic rhinitis

Seasonal allergic rhinitis

Seasonal allergic rhinitis changes according to the seasons. It is more serious in winter because the weather is relatively dry and we are prone to inhale some dust in our daily life, which can easily lead to the aggravation of rhinitis. It is hoped that patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis can wear masks appropriately in their lives and avoid contact with allergens.

When facing the disease of seasonal allergic rhinitis, we should have a certain understanding of its symptoms and prevention methods in our lives. Because seasonal allergic rhinitis is mainly caused by colds, we recommend that everyone should know the situation of seasonal allergic rhinitis in life.

The patient often sneezes several times a day. Daily nasal congestion, accompanied by a lot of watery nasal discharge, and handkerchiefs need to be changed several times a day. The itching of the nose is unbearable, and one has to squeeze the eyes and rub the nose frequently. Once the flowering period is over, most patients recover without treatment. Patients often mistakenly believe that they have a cold or heat flu when they develop the disease in the first year. However, when they suffer from a "cold" again at the same season and time in the second or third year, they begin to suspect the nature of the disease and seek further diagnosis and treatment. Another characteristic of the disease is regionality. Some patients may not develop the disease when they move to another area with different climatic and geographical conditions due to the difference in plant species, but they may develop the disease again after several years due to repeated sensitization to certain local pollen.

Causes

1. Contact with allergens:

a. Inhalants: such as dust, pollen, fungi, animal fur, chemical powders, etc.

b. Food: Many foods can cause allergies, such as fish, shrimp, milk, eggs, etc.; drugs such as salicylic acid, sulfonamides and antibiotics, etc.

c. Contact objects: such as paint, fur, ammonia, cosmetics, etc.

d. Injections: such as serum, penicillin, streptomycin, etc.

e. Bacteria and toxins.

2. Allergic constitution: Because allergic rhinitis often coexists or alternates with other allergic diseases such as bronchial asthma, urticaria, etc., and most patients have a family history, it may be related to genetics.

3. External factors: such as changes in heat and cold, temperature changes, sunlight or ultraviolet stimulation, etc.

4. Internal factors: Endocrine disorders such as adrenaline deficiency, thyroid hormone, ovarian hormone and pituitary hormone secretion disorders or alkaline body fluids can all constitute the pathogenic factors of allergic rhinitis.

In terms of diet, experts believe that the food we usually consume can be divided into four categories according to its nature: frozen, hot, cold, and warming. Therefore, in terms of diet, patients with weak and cold constitution should avoid eating frozen and cold foods, avoid drinking ice water, and eat white cabbage, white radish, lotus root, mung bean, watermelon, olives, clams, oysters, tofu shaped with gypsum, etc. They should eat more warm and nourishing lamb, pigeon, rabbit meat, quail, durian, etc. You can eat some hot foods such as fried dough sticks and fried peanuts, but don’t eat too much.

I believe that after reading this article introducing seasonal allergic rhinitis, you should all know that it is very important to properly avoid the influence of allergens in your life to prevent the occurrence of the disease. Seasonal allergic rhinitis mainly changes according to changes in weather and temperature. I hope you can pay attention to it.
