What to do if your heart rate is slow

What to do if your heart rate is slow

No one can avoid getting sick if they eat whole grains. People will suffer from many diseases in their lifetime, so we should pay attention to maintenance in our daily lives to avoid some diseases. However, there are many diseases that we cannot avoid, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. The incidence of these diseases is particularly high among the elderly. Heart disease is the most terrible old age disease, and slow heart rate is one of the main symptoms of heart disease.

If a person's heart rate is slow, he will experience uncomfortable symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, angina pectoris, etc. If the heart rate is particularly slow, it means the patient is in a serious condition. At this time, the patient will not be able to move independently. Only the patient himself can experience the heartache. Let's take a look at the specific conditions and treatments of slow heart rate.

When bradycardia is between 40 and 60 beats per minute, it generally does not cause obvious symptoms if there is no organic heart disease. If the heart rate is lower than 40 beats/minute, symptoms of reduced cardiac output will appear.

Performance:

1. Sinus bradycardia is generally asymptomatic if the heart rate is not less than 50 beats per minute.

2. If the heart rate is lower than 40 beats per minute, it may often cause symptoms such as angina pectoris, heart failure or syncope.

Diagnosis is based on:

The electrocardiogram showed sinus P waves with a P wave rate less than 60 times per minute and a PR interval greater than 0.12 seconds.

Treatment principles:

1. Sinus bradycardia, if the heart rate is not less than 50 beats per minute and there are no symptoms, does not require treatment.

2. If the heart rate is lower than 40 beats per minute and symptoms occur, drugs to increase the heart rate (such as atropine, ephedrine, or isoproterenol) can be used.

3. Patients with significant sinus bradycardia accompanied by sinus arrest and syncope may consider installing an artificial pacemaker.

4. Treatment of primary disease.

5. Symptomatic and supportive treatment.

Xuefu Zhuyu Pills and Danshen Tablets should be taken at the same time. The diet should be low in salt and fat, and there is no clear food that can increase heart rate.

Note:

1. For people who do not have any heart discomfort, their pulse rate is between 50 and 60 beats per minute. This sinus bradycardia is mostly physiological, that is, it is a normal phenomenon. There is no need to worry about it affecting your health and no treatment is required.

2. For people who have heart discomfort, pay attention to counting the pulse rate when you are calm, and then count the pulse rate when you feel heart discomfort. If the pulse rate is lower than usual every time you feel uncomfortable, it means that your discomfort is caused by bradycardia and you need treatment. In severe cases, you need to install a pacemaker to speed up your heart rate. You can also check your 24-hour electrocardiogram to see what your heart rate is at its slowest. If the speed of the heartbeat has nothing to do with heart discomfort, and the pulse is between 50 and 60 beats per minute, then there is no need to treat the bradycardia, but other tests are needed to confirm whether there is heart disease.

Slow heart rate is not only suffered by the elderly, young people can also suffer from it, so people should check their hearts in time. If there is any discomfort, it can be discovered as early as possible. Timely treatment in the hospital is the best option. People who normally have a slow heart rate should not do strenuous exercise, get angry, or have heart-pounding situations, otherwise it will make the heart disease more serious and cause more pain to the patient.
