1. The causes of proctitis. Foreign body injury, foreign body injury in the rectum can cause proctitis; poisoning and infection, infectious diseases caused by rodenticides or heavy metals are secondary to proctitis; malignant transformation of benign tumors is the cause of proctitis; dietary factors, high-fat, high-protein, low-fiber diets are all related to proctitis.

Typical symptoms are rectal pain, abdominal pain, tenesmus, fecal incontinence in the elderly, constipation, alternating diarrhea and constipation, etc.; symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, etc., and there will be alternating constipation and diarrhea, and the stool will contain mucus and blood, etc.; proctitis can also cause anal pain.

Patients should get adequate rest and eat light, low-residue, nutritious and non-irritating food; for systemic treatment, antibiotics can be taken orally, intramuscularly or intravenously according to the condition; for local treatment, rectal irrigation can be performed using normal saline, tannic acid or potassium permanganate solution.
