How to treat hepatitis A

How to treat hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is mainly caused by digestive tract infection. Close contact with hepatitis A patients, eating with tableware, water cups, toothbrush cups, etc., and eating food and water contaminated with the hepatitis virus can cause infection. If the water source is infected with the feces of people with hepatitis A, it will affect more people. Here we talk about how to prevent hepatitis A:

Transmission and treatment of hepatitis A

1. Oral transmission of hepatitis A virus:

(1) Transmission through daily contact;

(2) Transmission through food;

(3) Transmission through water;

(4) Transmission by insects.

2. Gastrointestinal transmission of hepatitis A virus:

(1) Transmission through blood transfusion and blood products;

(2) Transmission through unclean syringes.

3. Other ways of transmission:

(1) Mother-to-child transmission, breastfeeding transmission, and sexual transmission;

(2) Transmission by blood-sucking arthropods.

Treatment of hepatitis A Hepatitis A is an acute infectious disease with a self-limiting course. Except for a few particularly severe outbreak cases, the prognosis of all other cases is good. The natural course of the disease does not exceed 3 to 6 weeks. You can recover quickly by simply giving proper rest, nutrition and symptomatic supportive therapy according to your condition and preventing secondary infection and other damage.

Improve drinking water hygiene

Strengthen the disinfection of drinking water, whether it is tap water, well water, river water or pond water. If you add one tablet of bleaching powder to 50 kg of water, the hepatitis A virus can be killed; if hepatitis A is already prevalent, the dosage of bleaching powder can be appropriately increased. To prevent water sources and crops from being contaminated, do not use fresh feces in the fields, and do not wash clothes of hepatitis A patients in rivers or ponds.

Do not eat unclean food or drink raw water

Wash fruits and vegetables before eating them raw. Aquatic products such as razor clams and clams may be contaminated with hepatitis A virus and should not be eaten raw or half-cooked. Do not wash food that is eaten directly, such as pickles and cold dishes, in water that may be contaminated.

Pay attention to the hygiene of tableware and tea sets

Do not hold banquets when hepatitis is prevalent. Because hepatitis A patients excrete the virus in their stool before symptoms appear, if you host a banquet when hepatitis A is prevalent, there may be patients among the guests who have not yet developed the disease, which can easily cause an outbreak of hepatitis A among the attendees.

Early detection, early isolation, early treatment

Hepatitis A patients are highly contagious before they develop obvious symptoms, so the earlier they are discovered and isolated, the less likely they are to be infected. During the hepatitis A epidemic period, childcare institutions should strengthen inspections of children in order to detect and isolate patients early. The living rooms, activity rooms and clothes of hepatitis A patients should be disinfected.

Timely vaccination of immunoglobulin

Children have very low levels of antibodies against hepatitis A, so timely vaccination with immunoglobulin within two weeks of contact with a hepatitis A patient can protect them from developing the disease.

Chinese herbal medicine can be used for prevention

Take weeping willow soup: take 100g of fresh tender weeping willow branches and leaves, add 500ml of water, boil until 300ml, take twice a day, take for 4 days; take isatis root granules orally: adults take 1 bag (or 1 piece) each time, twice a day, take with boiled water, take for 5-10 days. Children take half the amount.

It seems that disease prevention is more important than cure. We should focus on prevention. Even if we get sick, we should not be afraid. We should have confidence in defeating the disease, maintain a positive attitude, and keep a good mood. The key to disease prevention is to do the above preventive work, avoid eating raw or cold food and drink boiled water. Diseases will stay away from us, I wish you all good health!
