What are the efficacy criteria for TCM disease diagnosis?

Although each of us in this social life is bound to be inseparable from going to the hospital, but currently traditional Chinese medicine treatment is also playing its unique advantages. Traditional Chinese medicine plays a vital role in our ancient country, but many people do not know much about it. Let’s take a look at what are the efficacy standards of traditional Chinese medicine disease diagnosis?

The common cold is caused by exogenous wind evil that invades the lung defense system. The main clinical manifestations are nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, aversion to cold, fever, and headache and body pain. Chills and fever, no sweat or little sweat, headache, and limb aches. It can be found in all four seasons, but is more common in winter and spring. The total white blood cell count is normal or slightly low, the neutrophil count is decreased, and the lymphocyte count is relatively increased.

Wind-heat invades the exterior, causing fever, aversion to wind, headache, nasal congestion and yellow runny nose, sore and red throat, and cough. The tip of the tongue is red, the tongue coating is white or slightly yellow, and the pulse is floating and rapid. Summer-dampness attacks the exterior: seen in summer, with symptoms of dizziness, heaviness, nasal congestion and runny nose, aversion to cold and fever, or the heat does not rise. Seen in summer, with symptoms of dizziness, heaviness, nasal congestion and runny nose, aversion to cold and fever, or the heat does not rise, no sweat or little sweat, chest tightness and nausea. The tongue coating is yellow and greasy, and the pulse is weak and rapid. Clinically, there are also colds caused by physical weakness, as well as concurrent symptoms such as dampness and stagnation.

Cough is caused by evil invading the lung system, which leads to the lung's failure to clear and purge, and unclear lung qi. It is a disease with coughing and sputum as the main symptoms. It is more common in acute and chronic bronchitis. Exogenous cough has an acute onset and may be accompanied by symptoms such as chills and fever. Internal injury cough is often caused by repeated attacks of external infection, with a long course of illness. Cough may be accompanied by wheezing. In the acute phase, blood tests show increased total white blood cell count and neutrophil count. Auscultation of both lungs may reveal coarsened breath sounds, or scattered dry or wet rales. Lung X-ray examination showed normal or thickened lung markings.

Wind-heat invades the lungs, causing cough with rough breathing, sticky white or yellow sputum, sore throat or hoarse cough, or fever, slight nausea, wind-cold, and slight thirst. The tip of the tongue is red, the tongue coating is thin white or yellow, and the pulse is floating and rapid. Deficiency of Lung Qi: The patient has a long-term cough with a weak sound, coughing accompanied by wheezing, coughing up clear and thin white sputum, poor appetite, shortness of breath, chest tightness, fatigue, spontaneous sweating and chills. The tongue is pale and tender, the tongue coating is white, and the pulse is weak.

From the above diagnostic standards for some of the more common diseases in our daily life, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of the diagnostic standards of TCM diseases. When similar situations occur in the future, they can also use a rough diagnostic reference, which is also very good.
