Why does my nose bleed after drinking alcohol?

Why does my nose bleed after drinking alcohol?

Nosebleeds may be caused by getting angry or some other reasons, and nosebleeds can occur suddenly, such as nosebleeds after drinking. This situation should be taken seriously because it may be a precursor to certain diseases, or it may cause the occurrence of some diseases. So why does nosebleeds occur after drinking?

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that nosebleeds are caused by the upward flow of qi and blood. The nose belongs to the orifice of the lungs. Generally speaking, any nasal disease is closely related to abnormalities in the lungs, liver and other parts of the body. When a person's Qi and blood rise, especially when the lung Qi is hot, the person will have a nosebleed. When the lung qi is overheated, blood or bleeding may occur in the fundus of the eyes. The causes of getting angry and nosebleed are the same, both are the result of the upward flow of Qi and blood, but getting angry is not the cause of nosebleed.

When the nasal cavity is too dry, the capillaries inside will rupture and cause bleeding. From a clinical perspective, 90% of nosebleeds are vascular bleeding caused by blood vessel rupture. In this regard, patients do not need to be too nervous. In most cases, they can handle it themselves and stop the bleeding in time.

When your nose is bleeding, you can plug your nose with a tampon and tilt your head back to stop the bleeding as soon as possible. At the same time, you can also apply a cool towel to your forehead or nose to lower the temperature of your head and nose to relieve bleeding symptoms. If there is excessive bleeding in the nasal cavity and it is difficult to stop, you should see a doctor immediately.

Generally speaking, nasal bleeding due to ruptured blood vessels does not require special treatment. Since nose bleeding is related to lung heat, people should try to avoid situations that may cause lung heat in their diet and lifestyle. Drink less alcohol, eat less spicy food, and eat less food that may generate heat. On the contrary, you can eat more foods that clear away heat and reduce fire, such as bitter melon, mung bean soup, watermelon, cold drinks, etc.

Nosebleeds caused by drinking too much are actually not a big deal. People with this condition should consciously drink less and maintain a positive and optimistic attitude, avoid bad living habits, such as staying up late and excessive exercise, and be careful not to eat spicy and irritating foods, which can cause people to get angry. Also drink more mung bean soup.
