Traditional Chinese medicine teaches you how to care for these elderly diseases

1. Coronary heart disease

Physical exercise is an integral part of the comprehensive treatment of coronary heart disease and helps reduce the incidence and mortality of myocardial infarction. You can perform moderate-intensity aerobic exercises such as walking and jogging. Some people have observed that running 3,000 meters in 16 minutes or 5,000 meters in 26 minutes can reduce blood cholesterol by 350 mg per liter. It can also be combined with Tai Chi, Qigong, etc. The heart rate is generally controlled at around 130 beats/minute.

Be careful not to exercise when you have angina pectoris or when the myocardial infarction lesions have not yet healed. Geriatric medicine researchers suggest that the period between 3 and 8 in the morning is a dangerous period for heart disease in the elderly. Blood pressure is highest at this time, and people are prone to stroke and sudden death. If inappropriate exercise is performed at this time, accidents are particularly prone to occur. Therefore, it is recommended to exercise around 10 in the morning. Whenever you go out for exercise, you should carry a health kit (first aid kit) with you.

2. Hypertension

According to a survey, regardless of occupation, the higher the level of physical activity, the lower the incidence of hypertension. Except for those who are bedridden due to serious illness, all types of hypertensive patients can adopt outdoor physical exercise, which includes many items such as walking, jogging, Tai Chi, medical gymnastics, badminton, cycling, etc. Although the amount of exercise can be appropriately increased, the heart rate should not exceed 130 beats/minute. Avoid exercises that require holding your breath, rapid rotation, excessive force, or deep bowing of the head.
