Acupoints for strengthening the spleen and removing dampness

The main substance that makes up the human spleen is lymphatic tissue, so the spleen is also an important immune organ in the human body. When there is a problem with the spleen, it makes it easier for viruses to invade the human body and cause other diseases. Therefore, in daily life, people should pay attention to the protection of the spleen and appropriately strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness. So which acupuncture points on the body can people press to strengthen the spleen and remove dampness?

1. Xuehai Cave

Method of finding the acupoint: Sit on a chair, straighten your legs, and a depression will appear on the inner side of your knee. Above the depression there is a raised muscle group, and the top of the muscle group is the Xuehai point.

Efficacy: Xuehai acupoint belongs to the spleen meridian of foot Taiyin, and is an important acupoint for treating "blood disease". It has the effects of nourishing blood and activating blood circulation, strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness, dispelling wind and relieving itching. It is the main acupoint for preventing and treating gynecological diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, skin diseases, muscle and joint pain and other symptoms.

2. Fenglong Point

Method of finding the acupoint: Fenglong point is located on the outer side of the calf, at the midpoint between the knee pit and the tip of the outer ankle, which is 8 inches above the tip of the outer ankle and two horizontal fingers away from the front edge of the tibia.

Efficacy: Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "the spleen is the source of phlegm". Spleen and stomach disorders, dysfunction of transportation and transformation, and stagnation of water and moisture caused by various reasons gather into phlegm and give rise to a variety of diseases. Fenglong point is the main acupuncture point for "removing phlegm" in clinical practice. It has the function of removing dampness and clearing phlegm. Combined with Zusanli point, long-term massage can clear away turbid dampness.

3. Yinlingquan Point

If you follow the inner horizontal line of the knee upwards, you will feel a protruding bone, which is the tibia. If you touch upwards along the bottom and inner side of the tibia, you will feel a bend and concave part of the tibia. This is the location of Yinlingquan.

Efficacy: Yinlingquan is the He point of the spleen meridian of foot Taiyin. It can strengthen the spleen and replenish Qi, promote the spleen's function of transporting water and dampness, and can strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, open up the three burners, and relieve swelling and promote diuresis.

4. Zhongwan acupoint

Method of acupoint location: Zhongwan acupoint is located in the upper abdomen, on the anterior midline, 4 inches above the navel, which is the distance of one horizontal palm.

Efficacy: Zhongwan point is the gathering point of the stomach and the meeting point of the viscera. The spleen and stomach are the exterior and interior of each other, and both are the basis of acquired metabolism. They work together to transform dampness in the body. Therefore, massaging the Zhongwan point can warm the middle and dispel cold, strengthen the spleen and remove dampness, harmonize the stomach and regulate qi. It is very effective in relieving symptoms such as loss of appetite, abdominal distension, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation caused by summer heat and dampness.

5. Zusanli acupoint

Acupoint location: Zusanli is located on the anterior and lateral side of the lower leg, one finger width away from the front edge of the tibia.

Massaging the Zusanli point can enhance disease resistance, regulate the spleen and stomach, dispel wind and dampness, and strengthen the body and eliminate evil.

Efficacy: Chengshan point is the most effective acupoint for removing dampness from the human body. It can invigorate the yang energy of the bladder meridian and expel dampness from the human body. Some people will feel obvious soreness and pain when they lightly press their Chengshan acupoint, indicating that there is dampness in the body.
