Using toothpaste like this will ruin your teeth

We need to brush our teeth at least twice a day, especially if there are children at home. Starting from the age of two or three, let them learn to brush their teeth by themselves and develop good oral cleaning habits. Brushing teeth is so important to us. In addition to toothbrushes and brushing postures, there is another topic that cannot be avoided, which is the use of toothpaste. Many people only focus on brushing their teeth in the morning and evening, but they have already fallen into some misunderstandings, which makes the effect of brushing teeth always unsatisfactory.

1. One tube of toothpaste for the whole family

This may be a phenomenon that occurs in many families. No matter how many people in the family use a bottle of toothpaste, they will take out another one when it is used up and continue sharing. Just as each of us has a different physical constitution, the condition of our teeth is also different. Some people have healthy teeth and only need to clean them every day; some people's teeth may be sensitive and need to use anti-sensitivity toothpaste; some people have bad breath and need to use toothpaste that has a breath-freshening effect.

Therefore, everyone's needs are different. If you share a toothpaste, you cannot target each person's dental condition. Also, when squeezing toothpaste, the toothpaste and the toothbrush will rub against each other. No one can guarantee whether there are bacteria on the toothbrush, and whether they will follow the toothpaste and enter another person's toothbrush. Therefore, the best way is to have one toothpaste per person, just like a toothbrush, so as to avoid cross infection.

2. Use only one toothpaste

When you run out of toothpaste and need to replace it, what kind of toothpaste would you choose? Would you continue to choose the same toothpaste because of "loyalty"? Or maybe the toothpaste was on sale and you bought several at once, so you kept using it for a period of time? It is unwise to use toothpaste in this way.

Although the main function of toothpaste is cleaning, other functions also need to be taken into account. For example, when you first use a certain anti-sensitivity toothpaste, you may feel that it is quite good, but when you use the second one, the effect will be reduced. This is because the teeth develop a certain tolerance to the same toothpaste after using it for a long time. In addition, the toothpaste required for teeth at different stages will also be different, and you should choose the most suitable toothpaste for a certain stage based on your actual needs.

3. Fill the toothbrush with toothpaste

Many people are afraid that they cannot brush their teeth cleanly, so when squeezing toothpaste, they squeeze a lot until it covers the entire toothbrush. However, using toothpaste in this way will not double the cleaning effect. If the toothpaste contains fluoride, excessive use may cause fluorosis, which will make the teeth brittle and more susceptible to tooth damage. Moreover, almost all toothpastes on the market use calcium oxide as an abrasive. If used in excess, it will cause excessive wear on the teeth, which is naturally not conducive to the health of the teeth.

Although parents have cultivated good habits of brushing teeth in their children early on, they must pay attention to whether the children accidentally swallow toothpaste. Although not much toothpaste is used each time when brushing teeth, it will inevitably harm the child's body and teeth over time. Therefore, when using toothpaste, the amount should be controlled. Adults only need to squeeze half the length of the toothbrush, while children are advised not to use adult toothpaste, but children's toothpaste, and only use an amount as big as a soybean each time.
