There are five types of garbage hidden in the body that must be prevented

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "accumulation" is the source of all diseases. The qualitative change of any thing comes from the accumulation of quantitative change, and disease is no exception. If the "garbage" in the body accumulates for a long time and is not removed in time, it will inevitably bring health risks.

Qi accumulation - damage to the liver

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the most important thing about Qi is its circulation. This means that if the Qi flows smoothly, all diseases will not arise; on the contrary, if the Qi flows out of balance, it will affect health. In Li Xiaojun's opinion, abnormalities in the seven emotions (joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, and shock) are most likely to cause abnormal circulation of "qi", leading to stagnation of qi and the formation of "qi accumulation". Traditional Chinese medicine says that "anger is the will of the liver". Being easily angry, having a bad temper, and long-term emotional frustration will cause the liver qi to continue to be in an upward state, causing liver depression. In daily life, sighing, emotional disorders, irritability, anxiety, depression, etc. are all warning signs of "qi accumulation". People with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases should pay special attention, as hyperactivity of liver qi can cause high blood pressure, which can easily lead to fainting and illness.

Countermeasures: Li Xiaojun said that exercise is a good way to relieve liver heat and reduce Qi. It is recommended to do more outdoor activities. Tai Chi, mountain climbing, brisk walking and jogging are all good choices. You can also drink rose water on a daily basis, which has the effect of soothing the liver and regulating qi. In addition, people with yin deficiency or excessive fire are advised to eat less fatty, sweet, spicy and stimulating foods, and eat more yin-nourishing and fire-clearing foods, such as pears, loquats, water chestnuts, etc.

Blood clots – blood vessel damage

Blood stasis refers to the accumulation of blood. "The blood in the human body is constantly circulating, perfusing the internal organs throughout the body. When there are too many nutrients, lipid substances such as triglycerides in the blood vessels will accumulate in large quantities, and even form a 'fat tide'. At this time, the blood viscosity is high, the blood flow rate slows down, and blood stasis is very close to you." Li Xiaojun said that a high-oil, high-fat diet, smoking and drinking are the culprits of blood stasis. People with blood stasis usually have a dull complexion, a dark mouth, a dark tongue with petechiae or flaky ecchymosis, and sometimes unknowingly develop skin bruises. Women often experience dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, or dark red menstrual blood or even purple-black blood clots. If not controlled, the final result of blood stasis is thrombosis.

Countermeasures: In your daily diet, you should eat more foods that can promote blood circulation and unblock meridians, such as black rice, eggplant, onion, kumquat, peach kernel, grapefruit, etc.; do not eat cold drinks or cold foods. In addition, you can also try a medicinal diet recipe - Panax notoginseng powder. Mix a small spoonful (about 1 to 2 grams) of Panax notoginseng powder in a small amount of milk or water and drink it once a day. It has the effect of unblocking Qi and blood, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Zhao Yan reminded that people with blood stasis constitution generally have weak cardiovascular function, so they should not exercise too vigorously. They can choose to take a walk, dance, do yoga, or do Ba Duan Jin.

Water accumulation - damage to kidneys

Water not only nourishes internal organs, meridians, skin, hair and other tissues and organs; it is also an important raw material for body fluids, blood and bile. The human body's absorption, conversion, transportation and excretion of water are collectively called water metabolism. However, once this rhythm is disrupted, the normal value of water required by various parts of the human body will also change accordingly. Some places will experience insufficient water supply, while other places will have excessive water and cause retention. This retention is called "water accumulation", which is called "edema" in traditional Chinese medicine. Zhao Yan believes that the kidneys control water and are responsible for the secretion of water, thus maintaining normal metabolism of water in the body. If the kidneys "fail", edema will occur. In daily life, typical symptoms range from small things like eye bags after staying up late in the morning to big things like facial edema and heaviness in the limbs.

Countermeasure: Eat more diuretic and swelling-reducing foods on a daily basis, such as winter melon, coix seed, celery, mulberry, carp, etc. You can also drink corn silk in water. In addition, massaging and pinching the Hegu, Waiguan, Zusanli, Sanyinjiao and other acupoints can also warm the yang and promote diuresis, and eliminate edema. It should be noted that diseases such as liver, heart, and decreased thyroid function may also cause edema. If severe and long-term edema occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly to determine the cause.

Food stagnation – damage to the spleen and stomach

Food accumulation refers to food accumulation. In modern life, children are always holding snacks in their hands; adults must have meat at every meal, and eat even more when they have social gatherings; the elderly, due to decreased gastrointestinal function, will more or less experience "food accumulation" phenomena such as indigestion and bloating. Zhao Yan said that "food accumulation" refers to a spleen and stomach disease caused by excessive eating, which leads to indigestion of food and inability of the spleen and stomach to function normally. Irregular diet and overeating are common causes of food accumulation. In addition to discomforts such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and decreased appetite, people with indigestion often experience bad breath, hot hands and feet, yellow skin, listlessness or restless sleep, tossing and turning while sleeping, and grinding of teeth.

Countermeasures: When you discover you have indigestion, you should first quickly reduce your food intake. For example, if you usually eat one steamed bun for each meal, you can reduce it to half a bun for each meal. At the same time, it is appropriate to cooperate with some dietary therapy recipes, such as sugar-fried hawthorn, white radish porridge, etc., which are not only easy to digest, but also have the effects of relieving gas, strengthening the stomach, and nourishing the spleen. In addition, food accumulation is only a "symptom", and the real problem is often "spleen deficiency". People with spleen deficiency are more prone to food accumulation. Therefore, you can appropriately supplement some spleen-strengthening foods, such as yam, chestnuts, millet, red dates, etc., eat less raw and cold foods, and avoid catching colds. In addition, some acupoint massage and massage techniques are also effective for indigestion, and you can do them at home. Specific methods: 1. Clear the large intestine: start from the base of the thumb, and push along the outer edge of the index finger to the fingertip; 2. Clear the stomach meridian: use the thumb to push from the second section of the palm of the other thumb to the base of the finger. Repeat the above two movements 50 to 100 times each time, once a day.

Phlegm accumulation - serious illness

Traditional Chinese medicine divides "phlegm" into two types: visible and invisible. Visible phlegm generally refers to secretions of the respiratory system, which is stored in the lungs and can be seen when coughed out. Invisible phlegm, on the other hand, refers to the body fluids in the body that lose their normal circulation pathways and regularities under the influence of pathogenic factors, and gradually accumulate and condense to form a viscous, harmful liquid that cannot be seen by the naked eye. "In comparison, invisible phlegm is more terrifying. People who are long-term tired, weak, and have low resistance are more likely to be targeted by it." Zhao Yan said that this liquid accumulates and lurks in the human body for a long time, which can cause a variety of diseases, such as dizziness, nausea and vomiting, palpitations and shortness of breath, stroke, and even tumors. These are all caused by invisible phlegm that stays in the internal organs and meridians. Therefore, Chinese medicine has the saying that "all diseases are caused by phlegm."

Countermeasures: First of all, stay away from humid environments. Elderly people are weak and if they encounter wind and cold, it may cause the lungs to lose their function and the lung fluids to condense into phlegm. The heavy rain and humidity in summer can also cause the invasion of dampness. Secondly, we recommend the "Erchen Decoction", a good remedy for removing phlegm. Take 10 grams each of Pinellia, Tangerine Peel, White Poria, and Licorice, boil them in water and drink warm, once a day. Or you can directly take the Chinese patent medicine Erchen Pills, which has the same effect. In addition, you can also eat more foods that have the effects of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness, and resolving phlegm and expectorant, such as white radish, water chestnut, seaweed, seaweed, loquat, red bean, etc.
