How to avoid scars after burns? Are there any tips?

In life, people are very likely to get scalded, such as when cooking or boiling water. Once scalded, the chance of leaving scars is also very high. So what should you do after a burn?

So how to deal with burns without leaving scars?

1. Rush. Rinse with running tap water or soak in cold water to quickly cool the skin. Do not place ice cubes directly on the wound to avoid damaging the skin tissue.

2. Take off. If a part of the body that is covered with clothes, shoes or socks is scalded, do not rush to take off the shoes, socks or clothes on the scalded part, otherwise the skin epidermis will fall off, which is prone to infection and delays the treatment. After fully moistening the wound, carefully remove clothing. You can use scissors to cut off the clothing. If there are blisters, be careful not to break them, as blisters can protect the wound.

3. Soak. Continue soaking in cool water for at least 30 minutes to relieve pain. But if the wound area is large or the patient is young, do not soak it for too long.

4. Cover. Cover the wound with a clean sheet or gauze. Before covering, you can apply a one-centimeter-thick burn ointment on the wound. If there is no ointment, you can apply cooking oil to prevent the wound from drying out. But be careful not to apply vinegar, soy sauce, toothpaste, soap, grass ash, etc. on the wound to avoid irritating the wound and causing difficulties for subsequent treatment.

5. Send. Send to a regular hospital for treatment immediately. Except for smaller burns that can be treated by yourself, in other cases it is best to send to a nearby hospital as soon as possible for further treatment.

With the arrival of summer, the number of children with burns and scalds seeking treatment in the scar repair ward increases. Doctors say that children are most susceptible to burns and scalds, so parents should provide a safe environment for their children and keep them away from gas, thermos, water dispensers, rice cookers and other items to avoid accidents.
