What causes chest tightness and shortness of breath after meals? How to treat it?

What is the reason for feeling chest tightness and shortness of breath after eating? Many people feel difficulty breathing after eating. Since many people don’t understand it, they especially want to know what kind of disease this is. So what causes chest tightness and shortness of breath after meals?

[Functional chest tightness] refers to the influence of psychological factors. It refers to staying in a room with closed doors and windows and poor air circulation for a long time, or encountering some unpleasant things, or even quarreling or arguing with others, or being in a climate with low air pressure, which often causes feelings of chest tightness and fatigue.

[Pathological factors] 1. Respiratory tract obstruction: tumors growing in the trachea and bronchi, tracheal stenosis, these diseases can cause patients to feel chest tightness and difficulty breathing. 2. Lung diseases: emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, atelectasis, pulmonary infarction, pneumothorax, etc. 3. Heart disease: certain congenital heart diseases, rheumatic valvular heart disease, coronary heart disease, and heart tumors.

Another situation is transient chest tightness and shortness of breath, which is caused by inhibition of the inspiratory center. Under normal circumstances, the human body completes the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide through even breathing in and out of the lungs. However, sometimes due to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the lungs, it stimulates the excitement of the inhalation center, intensifies the inhalation, produces a short deep breath, followed by a long breath, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.

How should patients be treated?

1. If you feel chest tightness and shortness of breath due to a bad mood or environmental reasons, you must relax and keep a good mood, and be open-minded. Pay attention to a regular life, combine work and rest, and do appropriate physical exercise, and shortness of breath will disappear.

2. If it is pathological chest tightness and shortness of breath, you must go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment in time to find out what disease causes it.

3. The treatment method for pathological chest tightness must be symptomatic, otherwise you will spend more money and still not be able to cure the disease.
