TCM health care, what time should you go to bed at night?

The health of the body also requires self-care, especially in diet, which requires special attention. Now some elderly people pay great attention to health preservation, and Chinese medicine health preservation is also a good choice. However, such health preservation methods also have many aspects, so when choosing, you must choose the appropriate method, which will be helpful to your health.

So what are the specific health-preserving methods of traditional Chinese medicine? The following is a detailed introduction so that we can have a good understanding of the health-preserving methods of traditional Chinese medicine and know how to carry them out in daily life. It is also of great help to physical health. This health-preserving method is a good choice for middle-aged and elderly people.

Traditional Chinese medicine is the theory of the correspondence between heaven and man. It places man on the earth and observes him together with the universe, the climate, the environment, pathogenic substances and the human body. He teaches people how to live a long life, so you have fixed sleeping and eating times.

1. Midnight (23:00-1:00): The gallbladder meridian is most active at this time. We are to sleep lying flat on our backs in bed.

According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, "The excess qi of the liver gathers in the gallbladder, where it gathers and becomes essence. The gallbladder is the organ of justice, and the five internal organs depend on it. Qi strengthens the courage, and evil cannot invade. If the gallbladder qi is weak, one will be timid, short of breath, and unable to make decisions." This shows the importance of the gallbladder. Some people think it is rash to remove the gallbladder without thinking. Bile needs to be metabolized. People should fall asleep before midnight so that the gallbladder can complete metabolism. "As clear as your courage is, so clear is your brain."

Anyone who falls asleep 1-2 hours before midnight will have a clear mind and rosy complexion when waking up in the morning. On the contrary, those who often do not fall asleep before midnight will have a pale complexion, and in particular the bile cannot be metabolized normally and becomes thick and crystallized, just like the salt in seawater evaporates and becomes salt after the water is dried, causing diseases such as stones. Some people will even become "timid" because of this.

Midnight is the darkest time of the day, when Yang energy begins to grow. There is a sentence in "Huangdi Neijing" that goes "All eleven organs are derived from the gallbladder." It depends on the growth of the gallbladder. Once the courage is generated, the qi and blood in the whole body will rise accordingly. Getting enough sleep at midnight is crucial for the whole day.

It's a strange phenomenon that after we finish dinner at night, we feel drowsy at 8 or 9 o'clock, but we become awake at 11 o'clock, so many people nowadays are used to starting work after 11 o'clock. Some people always want to eat something at 11 o'clock at night and look for food in the house. Why is that? This is because this is exactly the time when the Yang energy begins to grow. Therefore, a very important principle is that it is best to go to bed before 11 o'clock. This way you can slowly nourish this vitality. Human sleep has a great relationship with human life span, so sleeping is nourishing the Yang energy.

2. Chou time (1:00--3:00): The liver meridian is most active at this time. We need to be in a deep sleep state.

"The liver stores blood" means that human thinking and actions rely on liver blood for support. Waste blood needs to be eliminated and fresh blood needs to be produced. This metabolism is usually completed during the Chou hour when the liver meridian is most active. According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, "When a person lies down, blood returns to the liver." If one does not fall asleep at Chou time, the liver will still output energy to support one's thinking and actions, and it will not be able to complete metabolism. Therefore, those who do not fall asleep before Chou time will have a pale and gray complexion, be tired and irritable, and are prone to liver disease.

3. Yinshi (3:00-5:00): The lung meridian is most active at this time. This is a good time to nourish your lungs.

"The lungs are connected to all the meridians." After the liver renews the blood at the hour of Chou, it provides fresh blood to the lungs, which then sends it to the entire body. Therefore, people have rosy complexion and are full of energy in the early morning. During the Yin hour, sick people react particularly strongly. Coughing usually occurs at this time. It is best to ignore it and cough out the waste gas from the lungs.

4. Mao time (5:00-7:00): The large intestine meridian is most active at this time. At this time, get up early and move around to facilitate bowel movements.

Defecation will only occur when the lung qi is sufficient. "The lungs and large intestine are the interior and exterior of each other." The lungs will distribute sufficient new blood throughout the body, and then promote the large intestine meridian to enter an excited state, completing the process of absorbing water and nutrients in food and excreting waste.

Through the above introduction, we have some understanding of the Chinese medicine health-preserving methods. When choosing this method to preserve health, you can also follow the above methods. However, it should be noted that health-preserving methods also have many aspects, and proper exercise every day is also necessary.
