What are the precautions for women to take during confinement after miscarriage?

Miscarriage is what we often call abortion. Just like childbirth, abortion requires confinement period. So many people call miscarriage a miscarriage. So what are the precautions that women should take during the confinement period after miscarriage?

1. Getting enough rest during the confinement period is the most important thing

Artificial abortion causes great damage to the body, especially for girls aged 22 and below. The uterus, ovaries and other related organs need to undergo a process of repair. You should pay attention to proper rest after the operation, and it is best to rest in bed for the first three days. Because after the abortion, the endometrium is left with a wound. After the placenta is separated, there may be a small amount of bleeding from the wound left on the uterine wall. In this case, as the uterus contracts and the wound repairs, vaginal bleeding will gradually stop within 3-5 days and will not exceed 10-15 days at most. If the amount of vaginal bleeding exceeds the amount of menstrual blood, lasts too long, and is even accompanied by abnormal symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, fever, turbid and smelly leucorrhea, you should consider the possibility of infection or the presence of residues in the uterus, and seek medical treatment in time. Avoid standing, squatting, or doing heavy work for long periods of time to prevent uterine prolapse.

2. After the abortion, be careful not to have sexual intercourse within 3 months and do not get pregnant again within 1 year.

After the abortion, endocrine disorders will occur, which will lead to irregular menstruation. The menstrual cycle is generally about 28 days. It is normal to have a period that is about 7 days earlier or later. If it exceeds 7 days, you need to go to the hospital for treatment in time. Under normal circumstances, menstruation after abortion will come during the second menstrual cycle. If you have irregular menstruation after an abortion, it will generally return to normal within 2-3 months.

3. Pay attention to private hygiene after miscarriage

Experts point out that there is more perineum secretion after miscarriage, and the vulva should be cleaned with warm water every day. Change perineal pads frequently and keep the perineum clean and dry. The lochia will clear up in about 4 to 6 weeks after delivery. You can only stick to sponge baths for one week after miscarriage.

4. Avoid catching cold

The room should be ventilated frequently. The indoor temperature should not be too high, nor should it fluctuate rapidly. Avoid direct wind blowing on your body.

5. Avoid eating too cold food

You can eat porridge, soup and other easily digestible foods, as well as nutritious but non-greasy foods. Folk customs believe that women should nourish blood and replenish qi after miscarriage. Avoid cold foods, such as winter melon, coconut water, carambola juice, watermelon, pear (duck pear), hawthorn, lemon, cabbage, tangerine, orange, persimmon, strawberry, mango, pickled cucumber, cantaloupe, bamboo shoots, white radish, eggplant, leek, garlic, bitter melon, wolfberry, and celery. After miscarriage, the metabolism is high, and the amount of sweat and urine increases. If vegetables are not supplemented in time, the body will not recover completely and may lead to lifelong infertility.

In addition, you should not eat chocolate frequently during the confinement period, as it will damage the nervous system and heart, leading to indigestion and unstable sleep.

6. Use warm water more often during the confinement period.

During the confinement period, you need to use warm water to rinse your mouth, and use warm boiled water to clean your nipples. Do not use soap to avoid nipple cracks.
