1. Avoid picky eating and high-protein diet

Some pregnant women are partial to chicken, duck, fish and meat and high-end nutritional supplements, some only eat meat and not vegetables, and some do not drink milk, eat chicken and eggs, which results in a monotonous nutrition, increases the burden on the gastrointestinal tract, affects the intake of other nutrients, and makes the diet unbalanced.

2. Avoid eating without restraint

Some pregnant women do not control their diet. Eat whatever you want, eat as much as you want, and eat whatever you like as much as you want, which causes some pregnant women to become fat and the fetus to be huge. In some cases, the pregnant woman herself is fat, but the fetus is very small.

3. Avoid foods that are too refined or too fine

Pregnant women are the key protected objects in the family. They usually eat refined white flour, refined rice and noodles, and do not eat millet porridge, coarse grains and oatmeal, which causes serious deficiency and insufficiency of vitamin Bl.

4. Avoid consuming too much vegetable fat

5. Avoid high-fat diet

6. Avoid eating spicy food

Coffee, strong tea, spicy food, drinking, and husband smoking will all have adverse effects on the fetus, affecting normal development and even causing fetal malformations.

7. Avoid taking supplements at random

Pregnant women who frequently take warm tonic medicines and supplements, such as ginseng, deer antler, deer placenta glue, deer horn glue, longan, lychee, walnut meat, etc., will inevitably lead to yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity, qi imbalance, qi excess and yin depletion, and blood heat, which will aggravate symptoms such as morning sickness, edema, hypertension, constipation, and even cause miscarriage or stillbirth.

8. Avoid eating moldy food

Pregnant women who consume agricultural and sideline products and food contaminated by mycotoxins will not only suffer from acute or chronic food poisoning, but may also harm the fetus, leading to genetic diseases or fetal malformations, such as congenital heart disease, congenital idiocy, etc. Some may even cause the fetus to stop developing and result in stillbirth or miscarriage.

9. Avoid long-term vegetarianism

Long-term vegetarianism for pregnant women is not conducive to the growth and development of the fetus. Insufficient protein supply can reduce the number of brain cells in the fetus, affecting future intelligence and causing fetal deformity or malnutrition; insufficient fat intake can easily lead to the birth of a low-weight fetus, low resistance of the baby, and low survival rate; for pregnant women, anemia, edema and high blood pressure may also occur.

10. Avoid high-sugar diet

11. Avoid blindly supplementing calcium

If pregnant women blindly consume a high-calcium diet, such as taking large amounts of calcium tablets, vitamin D, etc., the fetus may suffer from hypercalcemia. Generally speaking, pregnant women need 800 mg of calcium per day in the early stages of pregnancy, which can be increased to 1000-1200 mg in the later stages. The dosage must be clearly determined before taking calcium supplements, and supplements need to be taken under the guidance of a doctor.

12. Avoid salty food

Due to changes in hormone levels, water and sodium retention occurs during pregnancy, and some people will experience edema in the late pregnancy. Cooked or pickled foods are not conducive to reducing edema, so a light diet is recommended.
