6 kinds of food that kidney patients should avoid! These are what you should know!

With the changes in today's living environment, more and more people are dealing with various diseases, especially kidney disease, which is relatively common. So what foods should patients with kidney disease avoid?

1. Banana

People with kidney problems should avoid bananas. Bananas also contain a lot of sodium salt. People with poor kidney function will eat more bananas, which means they will eat more sodium salt. According to relevant literature reports at home and abroad, for patients with renal insufficiency, eating too many bananas will increase the burden on renal function, delay the improvement of the disease, and may cause the disease to worsen.

2. Starfruit

People with poor kidneys should not eat fruits like carambola. Some scholars have observed that people with normal renal function who consume a large amount of sour carambola juice in a short period of time when hungry or after sweating profusely (the body is in a state of dehydration) will have a sudden increase in blood creatinine and suffer from acute renal failure. If kidney disease patients eat too much carambola, the neurotoxins contained in it can cause some kidney disease patients to experience symptoms such as confusion, weakness in the limbs, numbness in the hands and feet, and even coma. Patients with renal failure will experience varying degrees of toxic reactions even if they eat one star fruit. In severe cases, the condition can rapidly develop into uremia or even death.

3. Soy sauce

Soy sauce contains more sodium ions, which can increase blood pressure like salt, so you need to reduce the amount of salt after using soy sauce. Especially for patients with high blood pressure, poor heart and kidney function, and edema, you should pay attention to the conversion between soy sauce and salt. About 5-7 ml of soy sauce contains the same amount of sodium as 1 gram of salt, so you should not eat too much soy sauce.

4. High-salt foods

The edema of chronic nephritis is closely related to blood volume and sodium salt. Every gram of salt can bring in about 110 milliliters of water. If patients with nephritis consume too much salt and their urination function is impaired, the symptoms of edema will often be aggravated, the blood volume will increase, and heart failure will occur. Therefore, salt intake must be restricted and a low-salt diet must be given. Daily salt intake should be controlled below 2-4 grams to prevent worsening of edema and increase in blood volume, which may lead to accidents.

5. Avoid or eat less high-fat foods

Patients with chronic nephritis have symptoms of hypertension and anemia. What should patients with nephritis not eat? Animal fat is an unfavorable factor for hypertension and anemia because fat can aggravate arteriosclerosis and inhibit hematopoietic function. Therefore, patients with chronic nephritis should not eat too much. However, if chronic nephritis does not have fat intake, the body will become weaker, so in daily life, vegetable oil can be used instead, about 60 grams per day.

6. Avoid using strong seasonings

Patients with nephritis should not eat strong condiments such as pepper, mustard, coffee, chili, etc., which are not good for kidney function and should be avoided. Since MSG will make you thirsty after eating too much, you should also use less MSG when limiting your water intake.
