Green water for diarrhea

Green water for diarrhea

Parents should take comprehensive care of their babies, especially for younger babies. Parents can judge whether the child’s diet is correct by observing their stool, and thus know whether their body is healthy. So what happens when the baby has diarrhea and green water appears? When green stools appear, it is mostly due to indigestion. At this time, you should change the feeding method. If the condition does not improve, you should seek medical treatment immediately.

What to do if your baby has diarrhea and passes green watery stool

In life, many parents pay special attention to their baby’s diet and try their best to take various preventive measures, for fear that their baby will have diarrhea. But even so, it is still impossible to completely prevent the baby from having green watery stools. In fact, when a baby has diarrhea, parents do not need to panic too much. As long as they can handle the baby's diarrhea problem correctly, they can effectively relieve the baby's discomfort and restore the baby's bowel movements to normal.

If the baby is less than three months old and relies on breast milk on a daily basis, the main focus should be on adjusting the mother's diet. Babies at this stage are still in the process of adapting to the outside world, whether it is breast milk or the daily living environment. If parents neglect it, it is easy for the baby to get diarrhea.

The mother should adjust the baby's diet immediately after the baby has diarrhea, avoid irritating and greasy foods, and strictly avoid foods such as green dates and oranges that are likely to cause diarrhea. This can ensure that breast milk is suitable for the baby's body and avoid irritating the baby's stomach and intestines.

If the baby is fed with milk powder, parents need to immediately check whether there is a problem with the milk powder preparation process. An unclean bottle, changes in the ratio of milk powder and water, or milk that is too hot or too cold can all cause diarrhea in babies.

How to observe your baby's bowel movements

1. The color of stool. Usually, the baby's stool in the first few days after birth is often uniform, dark green and sticky, which is called meconium (normal phenomenon). The feces of babies who are breastfed within one month after birth are mostly yellow. As they grow older, the feces will change from yellow to yellow-green or green.

2. Are there any white particles in the stool? Newborn babies who are fed with breast milk or baby formula often have some white particles in their feces. These white particles are covered with transparent yellow or brown substances. This is because the gastrointestinal tract of newborn babies is not fully developed and the digestive enzymes in the digestive tract are not fully mature.

3. Frequency of bowel movements. If the frequency of bowel movements increases, the stool is egg-drop-shaped, watery, has a fishy smell, or there is mucus, pus or blood in the stool, then it is abnormal stool and you should seek medical attention immediately. When you see a doctor, you should keep a small amount of abnormal stool and take it to the hospital for testing to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

When there is something wrong with the baby's body, there will be reactions in the stool. Through these reactions we can understand the cause of the baby's diarrhea and get the correct method for treatment and prevention. At the same time, parents should also strengthen care during the baby's diarrhea period and make sure the baby drinks more water to avoid severe diarrhea and dehydration symptoms.
