In folk remedies, Polygonum multiflorum is often used to treat premature graying of hair, hair loss, alopecia areata, etc.

Treatment of senile skin pruritus

Zhang used Polygonum multiflorum as the main medicine and formulated his own Polygonum multiflorum moisturizing drink to treat 42 cases of senile skin pruritus. 21 cases were clinically cured, 18 cases improved, and 3 cases were ineffective, with an overall effective rate of 92.8%.

In the treatment of chronic bronchitis and bronchial asthma, Zhu et al. used Polygonum multiflorum as the main medicine to make Shouwu Chuanxiling Capsules to treat 30 cases of chronic bronchitis and bronchial asthma. The treatment results showed that 1 case was clinically controlled, 7 cases were significantly effective, 19 cases were effective, and 3 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate reached 90%.
