Does dental fillings have any impact during breastfeeding?

Does dental fillings have any impact during breastfeeding?

A woman's physical health condition can be more concentratedly reflected during the lactation period, because the milk secretion during lactation consumes a large amount of nutrition for women, causing a decline in some body indicators. For example, calcium deficiency in teeth is more common during lactation, which causes tooth defects in women and requires repairs. But does repairing teeth during lactation have any impact? Let’s take a look at the explanation below.

The filling itself will not have any impact. Because today's dental filling materials are basically non-toxic and have no side effects. Lactation is treatable. However, if a breastfeeding mother has a tooth filling, she sometimes needs to be injected with anesthetics, which may affect the baby's breastfeeding.

1. You should endure the toothache during breastfeeding and should not go for tooth filling. You can wait until the end of breastfeeding to have it filled, because anesthetics are needed for tooth fillings, and the drug properties can be easily absorbed by the baby through breast milk after taking the medicine.

2. When you have a toothache, you can cut a small piece of ginger and bite it on the painful area . You can reuse it when necessary, and it is also okay to hold it in your mouth when you sleep.

3. Apply honey to the area where you have toothache . It will be healed in a few minutes and it will also make your mouth full of fragrance.

4. Hold aloe vera in your mouth: Cut a small piece of aloe vera , peel off the skin, and hold the pulp containing sticky liquid in the painful area. It will relieve itself in 2 to 3 hours.

5. Ice compress: Just like treating bruises, applying ice to the cheek where the toothache occurs can relieve pain. Apply for 15 minutes each time, at least 3 to 4 times a day.

Note:

1. If the dental caries is more serious or there are other lesions in the oral cavity that need to be treated and other medications are needed, you should be vigilant. It is recommended that simple fillings can be done during breastfeeding to control the further spread of dental caries, and comprehensive and thorough dental filling treatment can be carried out after weaning.

2. Problems with the dental nerve roots require root canal treatment. The customer will experience pain during the treatment, so anesthesia is needed to relieve the pain. The commonly used anesthetic in the dental department is lidocaine. This component of this drug can easily pass through the placenta and combine with fetal proteins, which will have adverse effects on the baby. Therefore, it is recommended that breastfeeding women, if this is the case, should wait until the baby is weaned before receiving treatment.
