Symptoms of heart and spleen deficiency, treatment methods of heart and spleen deficiency

Generally speaking, if people have deficiency of both heart and spleen, they usually have symptoms such as insomnia, dreaminess, forgetfulness, and abdominal distension. So, what are the manifestations of deficiency of heart and spleen?

Clinical manifestations of heart and spleen deficiency:

Clinically, the symptoms include palpitations, insomnia, dizziness, forgetfulness, poor appetite, abdominal distension, fatigue, loose stools, blood, or subcutaneous purple spots. Women may have scanty and light-colored menstruation, continuous bleeding, sallow complexion, pale tongue, and a thready and weak pulse.

Methods for treating heart and spleen deficiency:

1. Acupuncture

The acupoints selected are Xinshu, Pishu, Shenmen, and Sanyinjiao. The technique should not be too strong, and the method of tonification should be adopted more often. The needle should be retained for 10 to 15 minutes, and gently twisted and lifted and inserted twice, once a day. You can also choose to perform moxibustion on the acupoints, moxibustion each acupoint for 3 to 5 minutes, until the skin turns red.

2. Diet therapy

Ginseng and Poria porridge: take 3-5 grams of ginseng (or 15-20 grams of Codonopsis pilosula), 15-20 grams of Poria cocos, 100 grams of polished rice, and 3-5 grams of ginger: first cut the ginseng (or Codonopsis pilosula) into thin slices, mash the Poria cocos, soak for half an hour, decoct the medicine juice together, then add appropriate amount of water to the polished rice and ginger into a casserole and cook, take it twice a day in the morning and evening; it has the effects of invigorating Qi, replenishing deficiency, strengthening the spleen and nourishing the stomach.
