These four foods are more nutritious than ginseng! Foods that nourish the kidneys, liver, stomach and spleen! Have you eaten?

In fact, the real “health experts” are not those precious Chinese herbal medicines or health products, but some very common ingredients around us. Especially the following four kinds of fruits, as long as they are properly matched and eaten correctly, they can achieve a tonic effect.

1. Lotus seeds

Lotus seeds have a very good nourishing effect. The ancients believed that they "enjoy the fragrance of fresh air, have the taste of harvest, and are the fruit of the spleen." Eating it in autumn has the effects of nourishing the heart and calming the mind, strengthening the spleen and kidneys, stopping diarrhea and consolidating semen. Not only does lotus seed help relieve insomnia, but for people who are prone to lung diseases such as cough and asthma, it can also enhance immunity by nourishing the kidneys and achieve the effect of moisturizing the lungs.

The lotus seeds on the market are divided into red lotus seeds and white lotus seeds. Red lotus seeds have a harder texture, but are better at nourishing the kidney and blood; white lotus seeds have a fragrant and glutinous taste, and are more effective in strengthening the spleen. In addition to traditional ways of eating lotus seeds, such as lotus seed porridge, red dates, white fungus and lotus seed soup, and white fungus and lotus seed soup, making tea with lotus seed core is more effective in removing heart heat, while making lotus seeds into wine is more effective in strengthening the kidneys.

2. Gorgon Fruit

This is the dried mature seed kernel of the water lily plant, also known as "chicken head rice" and "chicken head", and is more common in the south. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Gorgon fruit is sweet, astringent, and flat in nature, enters the spleen and kidney meridians, can strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, consolidate the kidneys and stop diarrhea, and has the advantages of "tonic without being harsh" and "preventing dryness without being greasy".

Its kidney-tonifying effect is stronger than yam, its dampness-removing effect is better than red beans, and its sedative effect is stronger than lotus seeds. It can be said to be a hidden tonic product. One of the ways to maintain good health that Su Dongpo, a great writer in the Song Dynasty, followed was to eat water chestnuts.

3. Chestnut

Sweet and delicious chestnuts are a very popular snack in autumn and winter. They contain rich nutrients such as carbohydrates, protein, fat, multiple vitamins and minerals.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that chestnuts are sweet and warm in nature, and have the effects of nourishing the stomach and spleen, tonifying the kidneys and strengthening the tendons.

4. Peanuts

Peanut is a high-protein oil crop and has been known as the "immortality fruit" since ancient times. "Compendium of Materia Medica" records that "peanuts soothe the spleen and stomach, moisten the lungs and resolve phlegm, nourish and replenish qi, clear the throat and relieve itching" and are suitable for people with spleen deficiency, weight loss, poor appetite, fatigue, dry cough and little phlegm.

It is worth noting that the red skin of peanuts (i.e. peanut skin) has a stronger effect in replenishing qi and stopping bleeding. Therefore, people who need to replenish blood can choose small peanuts with more red skins, while large peanuts can be chosen for cooking porridge or making peanut paste. In addition, soaking peanut kernels in vinegar and drinking water boiled with raw peanut shells can also have a certain blood pressure lowering effect.
