How to treat scrotal herpes? Eliminating the cause is the key

Scrotal herpes is a highly contagious disease that can be spread through skin contact and other means. If male friends accidentally develop scrotal herpes, they should go to the hospital for examination in time, find out the cause, and treat it as soon as possible to avoid affecting male reproductive health.

1. General treatment

1: Mainly keep the local area clean, dry and the blister wall intact. It can be cleaned 2 to 3 times a day with isotonic saline and dried. When bacterial infection occurs, sensitive antibiotics should be used. For local analgesia, 5% lidocaine hydrochloride ointment or oral analgesics can be used. Another key point is to provide spiritual comfort and explain the treatment methods and management of relapse to avoid mental fear.

II. Vaccines and immunosuppressants

1: Vaccines and immunosuppressants For patients with severe primary genital herpes and recurrent attacks, non-specific vaccines such as BCG and polio vaccine can be tried to enhance the body's non-specific immunity, but their effectiveness is not very reliable and should be used with caution in patients with immunosuppression and immunodeficiency.

3. Immunostimulants

1: Immunoenhancers can be used for patients with recurrent genital herpes to improve the body's immune regulation function. For example, levamisole, 50 mg each time, 3 times a day, take it for 3 consecutive days and then stop for 11 days, that is, take it for 3 days every 2 weeks. You can also use levamisole ointment, apply it to the flexor side of the forearm, once a day for 3 consecutive days. Take the medicine 3 days a week.

IV: Antiviral drug treatment

1: Acyclovir (ACV) is an open-chain purine nucleoside that inhibits viral deoxyribonucleic acid synthesis but has little effect on host cell DNA synthesis. It is considered to be the most effective anti-HSV drug currently available. For severe cases, the drug can be administered intravenously at a dose of 5 mg per kilogram of body weight, once every 8 hours for 5 to 7 days. Generally, patients can take it orally, 200 mg each time, 5 times a day, or 800 mg each time, 2 times a day, for a total of 5 to 7 days. It can quickly reduce the virus, alleviate symptoms and shorten the healing time. Topical application of 3% to 5% ACV ointment can also relieve symptoms and shorten the course of the disease. The drug has no obvious side effects.

2: For patients with more frequent relapses, preventive medication can be used. The method is to take 200 mg each time, 3 times a day, for 6 to 12 months. Some patients can completely suppress recurrence. In recent years, new analogs of acyclovir have been developed, such as valaciclovir, famiciclovir, penciclovir, etc., which have the advantages of definite efficacy, high bioavailability, small dosage, long half-life, and less medication frequency. They have been reported to be used for the treatment of genital herpes.

3: Phthalidine ointment can significantly inhibit the replication of herpes virus and is more effective for primary herpes.

4: Ribavirin is a guanosine analog that has anti-DNA and RNA virus effects. Taking 800 mg per day for 10 days can relieve pain and shorten the course of the disease.

Five: At the same time, we also need to do it ourselves

Relevant prevention and care work can prevent this disease from posing a greater threat to our physical health.
