How to treat encephalitis? There is a good way to treat encephalitis

Encephalitis is mostly caused by viral invasion and often occurs in children because their own resistance is relatively poor. When encephalitis attacks, patients often have symptoms such as fever, headache, and physical discomfort. Therefore, many parents mistakenly think that their children have a cold. If parents find that their children have similar symptoms, they should go to the hospital for examination in time to avoid delaying treatment.

1. Encephalitis

1: Encephalitis caused by a virus. More common in children. Symptoms include chills, fever, headache, vomiting, impaired consciousness, convulsions, and may also include cranial nerve paralysis, limb paralysis, and mental symptoms such as hallucinations, auditory hallucinations, mental abnormalities, speech disorders, excitement, agitation, depression, etc. Physical signs may include meningeal irritation and pathological reflexes of the pyramidal tract.

2: Examination of cerebrospinal fluid shows increased pressure, colorless and transparent appearance, slightly increased protein, normal sugar and chloride levels, and white blood cell count generally within 0.1×109 to 0.2×109/L, not exceeding 0.5×109/L. In the early stage of the disease, multinucleated lesions are the majority, while later on, uninucleated lesions become the majority. Diagnosis requires virus isolation and serological testing. In recent years, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and protein blotting have been used to detect viral nucleic acid and specific antibodies, with high sensitivity and specificity. Except for herpetic encephalitis, which can be treated with acyclovir or adenosine, there is no specific treatment, and symptomatic and supportive treatment is the main treatment. Prevention adopts comprehensive preventive measures mainly including cutting off the transmission route, killing insect vectors and injecting vaccines.

II. Treatment of Encephalitis

1: Various attenuated virus vaccines (measles, mumps, rubella, etc.) have significantly reduced the total number of neurological complications associated with these viral infectious diseases.

2: Mainly symptomatic treatment, such as cooling down, stopping convulsions, reducing intracranial pressure, improving cerebral microcirculation, and rescuing respiratory and circulatory failure. In the acute phase, dexamethasone can be administered intravenously, with the course of treatment not exceeding 2 weeks (but its effectiveness is still controversial). Ribavirin is often used for antiviral treatment, while adenine arabinoside and acyclovir can be used for malarial viral encephalitis. Infuse brain cell nourishing drugs to promote brain function recovery.

3: In normal times, parents should cultivate good living habits for their children, eat a balanced diet, open windows for ventilation, keep the indoor air fresh, do more outdoor activities, go to less crowded places, improve the body's disease resistance, and reduce the chance of virus infection. People who are infected with viruses do not necessarily develop viral encephalitis. They will only develop viral encephalitis when the body's resistance is reduced and the virus directly passes through the blood-brain barrier and invades the brain.

4: Once your child is discharged from the hospital, make sure he is in a good mood and has a good diet. If your child has any weakness or stiffness in his muscles, follow your doctor's instructions and do exercises with him so he can move freely.

3: Due to the initial symptoms of encephalitis and

It does look very similar to having a fever, so many parents will ignore their children's condition. Children's resistance is indeed very poor. When children show bad symptoms, it is best to go to the hospital for examination. However, parents do not need to worry too much. As long as the child's condition is treated, it can be stabilized and recovered.
