How can we talk about treatment if we can't tell the location of hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are a very common anorectal disease and the treatment is not complicated. Due to its pathological characteristics, it is easy to occur in multiple locations. Hemorrhoids are a common disease located in the anal area and can occur at any age, but the incidence rate gradually increases with age. So where are internal hemorrhoids located?

Location of internal hemorrhoids

Internal hemorrhoids:

It is the most common type of hemorrhoids, and it often occurs above the dentate line. The initial symptoms are painless blood in the stool, and some patients only have a feeling of anal distension. Hemorrhoids are small and can be easily overlooked. In the middle stage, the hemorrhoids become larger and bulge, the pain becomes increasingly obvious, and the amount of blood in the stool varies. In the later stage, when the hemorrhoids grow to a certain size, they may protrude from the anus along with feces and cause anal incarceration, that is, the hemorrhoids are blocked outside the anus and cannot retract.

Due to their location, internal hemorrhoids are not easy to be detected and applied with ointments, so special auxiliary tools should be used to reach into the anus, find the internal hemorrhoids, and apply the medicine to the affected area to truly achieve a therapeutic effect.

external hemorrhoids:

In contrast to external hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids occur below the dentate line of the anal canal. They are caused by varicose veins and repeated inflammation of the anal venous plexus. They can be felt by touching the anus with fingers and can be seen with the naked eye. The chance of causing bloody stools is small, but there will be pain and a sensation of foreign body in the anus.

Mixed hemorrhoids:

The venous mass that grows in the common area of the upper and lower rectal venous plexuses is a mixed hemorrhoid formed by the mixing of the internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids venous plexuses. From the perspective of formation, mixed hemorrhoids are a more serious type of hemorrhoids.

How to treat hemorrhoids in daily life?

1. Keep your anus clean

In my country, the step of taking a sitting bath to clean the anus after defecation may not be common, but this step has a very obvious effect on the treatment of hemorrhoids and anal diseases. If you stick to it for a while, I believe you will find surprises!

2. Adhere to treatment

For patients with mild hemorrhoids, insisting on applying ointments and other drug treatments plays a big role in the recovery of hemorrhoids. Choose appropriate ointments or drugs according to your condition.

Studies have found that labor is a whole-body exercise that can promote blood circulation in various parts of the body and help improve mood. Go out more often for physical exercise. Running, Tai Chi, swimming, badminton, etc. are all beneficial to promoting blood circulation in the buttocks.

3. Develop good bowel habits

Dry and hard stools will squeeze and abrade hemorrhoids, which is the main cause of bloody stools and aggravation of hemorrhoids. Therefore, preventing constipation and softening the stool is the most fundamental solution. Have regular bowel movements every day, do not hold back on defecation, the defecation time should not exceed 5 minutes, the defecation should be smooth, and the stool should not be hard, rotten or too smelly.

4. Develop good eating habits

Eat a light diet with a balanced combination of meat and vegetables. Avoid spicy, fried, grilled, ginger, onion, coffee, tobacco, alcohol, fatty, and other irritating foods. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. Celery, grapes, dragon fruit, spinach, etc. are suitable for patients with hemorrhoids.

Make sure to consume adequate amounts of crude dietary fiber (wheat, oats, brown rice, corn, etc.), vegetables, fruits, and water every day. You can massage your abdomen appropriately to promote gastrointestinal motility and improve symptoms of constipation.
