What causes corns?

What causes corns?

Many people may not understand the causes of corns, but in fact, corns are closely related to bad habits in life, such as standing or walking for a long time, wearing inappropriate shoes, and congenital foot bone deformities, which can easily lead to corns.

Reason 1: Standing or walking for a long time

Corns are mostly caused by long-term compression or squeezing of the feet, which leads to thickening of the stratum corneum. Therefore, occupational groups that stand or walk for long periods of time are more susceptible to corns.

Reason 2: Shoe problem

The occurrence of corns is also related to patients wearing ill-fitting and uncomfortable shoes for a long time. Shoes that are too tight or high heels can cause the skin on the feet to be irritated for a long time, which can cause corns. Therefore, women who wear high heels for a long time are also prone to corns.

Reason 3: Congenital foot bone deformity

The cause of corns is long-term compression or friction of the feet. Congenital foot bone deformities will cause the walking or standing posture to be different from that of ordinary people. At the same time, the feet will be in a state of compression or friction for a long time, resulting in corns on the feet. Therefore, people with congenital foot bone deformities are also prone to corns.

Corns are not a serious disease, but because they compress local sensory nerves, they cause severe pain, making it difficult for patients to walk and bringing inconvenience to their lives and work. Therefore, knowing the causes of corns will be beneficial to the patient's recovery and can also help everyone prevent corns, nip the possibility of the disease in the bud and prepare for a rainy day.
