What are the dangers of laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a hair removal method that is now popular among women because of its long-lasting hair removal effect. However, laser hair removal is not suitable for everyone. Some people have scar-prone physique or are allergic to photosensitivity and cannot use laser hair removal.

1: No hair growth for life after laser hair removal

Currently, laser or intense light therapy devices have the function of permanent hair removal, but it is not what most people think: that after treatment, hair will not grow for life. The permanence here does not mean permanence in the true sense. The correct understanding of permanent hair removal should be that after laser treatment, the hair will not grow again within a hair growth cycle.

2: Laser hair removal is suitable for everyone

In fact, not everyone is suitable for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is not suitable for people with scar-prone constitution or photosensitivity; people with particularly dark skin; people who have used other methods such as waxing and patching within six weeks; women who are menstruating or pregnant, as well as people who are too old or too young; and people with infections in the hair removal area.

3: Hair removal is effective in one go

Laser hair removal usually requires 3-6 sessions to completely remove all hair. There are two reasons for this: one is that most hair follicles are bundled together in groups of three and open into the same pore. A hair in a pore grows from one of the three follicles in the group below it, so one treatment can only destroy one follicle in a group; the other is that hair growth takes a period of time and is divided into the growth phase, regression phase, and resting phase. Laser hair removal is 75% effective in the growth phase, 25% in the regression phase, and almost ineffective in the resting phase.
