Is hernia surgery dangerous?

Most patients with hernia are treated with surgery. We know that although this disease does not require major surgery, many people are still afraid that surgery may be dangerous. So is there any danger in undergoing hernia surgery?

Hernia surgery mainly refers to hernia repair surgery, which is to forcibly pull the two ends of the defect together with a sharp line to repair the defect. Since common surgical hernias are divided into inguinal hernias (mostly caused by weak muscle fascia or congenital abdominal wall defects) and wound hernias (caused by infection of abdominal surgical wounds), the treatment of hernia is mainly surgical. Inguinal hernias are treated with local or half-body anesthesia, while wound hernias are mostly treated with general anesthesia.

An integrated artificial mesh that is larger than the hernia gap is used to repair and strengthen the damaged abdominal wall gap. The overall structure includes two layers of artificial mesh and a connecting central axis. The central axis of the mesh is used to block the hernia gap. The upper and lower layers of artificial mesh can be attached to the inner and outer sides of the damaged abdominal wall. The compression resistance principle of dam repair is used to enhance the pressure resistance, which can block the pressure of the abdominal wall, will not cause an increase in abdominal wall tension, and reduce the possibility of postoperative pain and recurrence in patients. After three years of follow-up, the recurrence rate of patients using tension-free three-in-one artificial mesh is less than 0.05%, and it also has the advantages of short operation time, low pain, and fast recovery. Usually, patients only need to stay in the hospital for 1-2 days after surgery and can quickly return to normal work and life. This surgery is currently a self-funded project.

Choice of artificial mesh:

During this operation, a lightweight artificial mesh (Lightweight Partially Absorbable Mesh) will be selected. This new type of mesh is developed using modern technology. It originated in Europe and can be used in the treatment of inguinal hernia. Its main features are that part of the material is absorbable and the holes are large, so that less foreign matter is left, and it is easy to form a more elastic scab tissue that fits the abdominal wall structure.
