Hormonal dermatitis is a type of dermatitis that is dependent on hormones. It is caused by long-term improper use of hormone drugs. Hormonal dermatitis is very difficult to cure. It is necessary to prevent the occurrence of this skin inflammation and not to use hormone drugs at will. 1. Treatment methods When using corticosteroid ointments, it is necessary to prevent the occurrence of drug dependence and steroid dermatitis. The main measures include: 1: There must be clear indications, and hormone ointments cannot be used for all inflammations. 2. For short-term use, each medication should not exceed two weeks. If it exceeds two weeks, intermittent treatment is required. 3. The dosage should be controlled, not exceeding 50 grams per week, and repeated use of hormone ointments should be avoided. 4: Clean the local skin before use. 5. Fully understand the limitations of hormone ointments. Although it can quickly improve the condition, it cannot cure it. The cause of the disease should be actively explored and treatment should be carried out based on the cause. While treating with antibiotics, vitamins and desensitization drugs, continue to use hormone drugs, gradually reducing the dosage until it is withdrawn. It takes more than a year for the skin lesions to return to normal, and most patients experience great mental stress. 2. Clinical symptoms 1. Signs: The facial skin may experience varying degrees of atrophy, thinning, shiny, diffuse flushing or skin erythema, or capillary dilation, local swelling, dryness and desquamation, or acne-like rash or rosacea-like dermatitis or skin atrophic striae or folliculitis pustules. 2. Symptoms: Local itching, burning pain, tightness, distension or dry discomfort. The above symptoms are aggravated by heat (such as sun exposure, hot bath, hot steam fumigation) and alleviated by cold. 3. The primary disease worsens after discontinuation of corticosteroids, and there are obvious symptoms of hormone dependence, that is, the condition improves rapidly after topical application of corticosteroids. Once the drug is stopped, a more severe hormone rebound dermatitis will occur in 1 to 2 days or as long as 3 to 5 days, and even bacterial and fungal infections may be induced. |
