What are the symptoms of purpura nephritis?

Purpura nephritis can cause serious damage to the patient's health, so people should pay attention to this disease. The symptoms of purpuric nephritis are generally obvious, including joint pain, rash, and abdominal pain. Everyone should pay attention to such symptoms.

1. Rash: Rash is often the first manifestation of the disease. Purpura varies in size, protrudes above the skin surface, is purple-red in color, does not fade when pressed, can merge into flakes, or appear as herpes-like, urticarial, or erythema multiforme, and may be accompanied by neurogenic edema. When the condition is serious, ulcers and necrosis may occasionally occur. Purpura is more common on the extensor side of the limbs and buttocks, and is more obvious in the lower limbs, ankles, knees and other joints. It appears symmetrically in batches and is prone to recurrence.

2. Joint symptoms: Most patients' joint symptoms are characterized by migratory and multiple joint pains. Commonly affected joints are the knees, ankles and hands. The symptoms usually disappear within a few days without leaving any joint deformities. Some children have joint swelling and pain, mostly affecting large joints such as knees, ankles, wrists, elbows, etc., while small joints are not affected. The disease may also be single, multiple or migratory. The joints are swollen and painful, and the pain worsens with activity. There is often a slight fever in the local area, and in severe cases there is a burning sensation. There will be no sequelae after the joint symptoms subside.

3. Gastrointestinal tract: The most common gastrointestinal manifestation of patients is abdominal pain, mainly around the umbilicus and lower abdomen, paroxysmal colic, which may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, bloody stools, and occasionally vomiting blood.

4. Hypertension: Hypertension caused by this disease accounts for about 20% to 40% of hypertensive patients. Blood pressure is generally slightly to moderately elevated. Some patients may develop hypertensive encephalopathy. Hypertension is often found at the same time as abnormal urine, but most patients recover quickly.
