Insufficient heart and spleen, deficiency of qi and blood, good effect of TCM conditioning

Insufficient heart and spleen, deficiency of qi and blood, good effect of TCM conditioning

Common causes of deficiency of Qi and blood include excessive blood loss, irregular diet, excessive fatigue, weak spleen and stomach, etc., which can easily cause symptoms such as dizziness, rough skin, insomnia, nightmares, palpitations, and restlessness. The effect of conditioning with traditional Chinese medicine will be very good.

(1) Strengthen the spleen and stomach

The spleen and stomach are the source of blood biochemistry. If the diet is moderate and the spleen and stomach function normally, blood production will naturally continue. Therefore, to replenish blood you must first strengthen the spleen and stomach. A strong spleen and stomach will provide an endless source of biochemical energy. Commonly used prescriptions include Sijunzi Decoction, Siwu Decoction, Danggui Buxue Decoction, etc.

(2) Nourishing Qi and Producing Blood

The material basis of blood is essence, and qi is the driving force to promote the transformation of essence into blood. In the Qing Dynasty, Li Zhongzi's "Essential Readings in Medicine" said: "Both blood and qi are needed, but nourishing qi comes before nourishing blood; both yin and yang are needed, but nourishing yang comes before nourishing yin." "Treatise on Warm Diseases" said: "Those who are good at treating blood do not seek visible blood, but invisible qi." "The Complete Works of Jingyue" said: "Visible blood is difficult to produce quickly, and invisible qi should be consolidated urgently." In clinical medication, based on the principle that "qi can produce blood", blood-tonifying drugs are often combined with qi-invigorating drugs. Commonly used prescriptions include Guipi Decoction, Danggui Buxue Decoction, etc.; commonly used Qi-tonifying medicines include Astragalus, ginseng, Codonopsis, Atractylodes, Polygonatum, yam, jujube, etc.; and blood-nourishing medicines such as Angelica, White Peony, donkey-hide gelatin, Rehmannia, etc.

(3) Nourishing the kidney and producing blood

The kidney is the foundation of one's innate constitution and is responsible for storing essence. Essence includes both the innate essence and the acquired essence of the five internal organs. Essence can produce marrow, and marrow can turn into blood. At the same time, the life gate in the kidney is the place where the original qi is connected, the root of the twelve meridians, the source of biochemistry, and it is also the driving force that warms and promotes blood biochemistry. Therefore, Traditional Chinese Medicine states that “the root of blood production lies in the kidneys.” Clinically, to treat blood deficiency, it is necessary to tonify the kidney to replenish essence. When the essence is sufficient, the blood will naturally flow. Commonly used prescriptions include Cuscuta Decoction, Erxian Pills, etc. Commonly used kidney-tonifying medicines include deer antler, antler glue, donkey-hide gelatin, tortoise shell glue, Morinda officinalis, Cynomorium songaricum, Epimedium, Psoralea corylifolia, Cuscuta aconite, Cinnamon bark, Polygonum multiflorum, Rehmannia glutinosa, Lycium barbarum, Placenta, etc.

(4) Remove blood stasis and generate blood

Whether it is the nutrient blood transformed by the spleen and stomach, or the blood transformed by the essence and marrow, they must be released and transmitted through the meridians and marrow channels, and circulate throughout the body. Essence turns into blood, which is inherited from the innate and nourished from the acquired. The acquired essence of food and water, and the essence of the five internal organs, also rely on the transportation of meridians to converge in the Chong Mai - the sea of blood, and meet with the kidney's large network to nourish the kidney and nourish the bone marrow. If Qi and blood are blocked and the meridians are blocked, the bone marrow will be depleted due to lack of nourishment, resulting in the inability to produce blood. Commonly used prescriptions include Taohong Siwu Decoction, Buyang Huanwu Decoction, Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction, etc. Commonly used blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing drugs include Angelica sinensis, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Panax notoginseng, Cortex Moutan, Cyperus rotundus, etc.
