How to exercise if the lung qi is insufficient

How to exercise if the lung qi is insufficient

Insufficient lung qi actually means lung qi deficiency. The main symptom is shortness of breath during normal daily exercise. Although insufficient lung qi is not fatal, it does indicate that the patient has a weak constitution. So, how do you exercise if you have insufficient lung qi? In fact, the best method is Chinese medicine conditioning plus exercise, which will be more effective and save more time. The exercise methods for insufficient lung qi are as follows. Everyone should persist in exercising.

Causes

It is mostly caused by long-term cough that damages the lung qi, or due to a weak constitution and insufficient lung qi, or due to spleen deficiency, the essence of water and grain cannot nourish the lungs. It is more common in the later stages of the disease or in chronic lung diseases and is a type of deficiency syndrome.

Clinical manifestations

Shortness of breath and fatigue, panting and shortness of breath after the slightest effort; the body's disease resistance is low, and it is easy to be infected by external pathogens and catch a cold, with symptoms of chills and clear runny nose; sinusitis is prone to occur when it is cold; dry, wrinkled, and itchy skin is common, especially in the dry autumn and winter climate; it can often lead to kidney yang deficiency, which makes the water flow poor, resulting in frequent urination and residual urine.

Key points of syndrome differentiation

There are symptoms of decreased lung function, such as weak cough and shortness of breath; this is a symptom of qi deficiency, which is more common in the late stages of lung disease and chronic lung diseases.

Differential Diagnosis

1. Differentiate from spleen qi deficiency syndrome

Both belong to the category of Qi deficiency, but the disease location of this syndrome is in the lungs. In addition to the general symptoms of Qi deficiency, it is also characterized by cough, asthma, clear and thin sputum, shortness of breath, and worsening with movement. Whereas the spleen qi deficiency syndrome is located in the spleen, it is characterized by the general symptoms of Qi deficiency accompanied by poor appetite, abdominal distension, especially after eating, loose stools or edema. If there are symptoms of both lung qi deficiency and spleen deficiency and malfunction at the same time, it is a combination of the two and it is a syndrome of both lung and spleen deficiency.

2. Differentiate from heart qi deficiency syndrome

Both also fall into the category of Qi deficiency syndrome. However, this syndrome is caused by the lungs, so it is characterized by coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, which is worse when moving, easy to catch cold, and general symptoms of Qi deficiency. However, the syndrome of cardiac Qi deficiency is caused by the heart, so it is characterized by palpitations, chest tightness and discomfort, aggravation of symptoms after activity, and general signs of Qi deficiency. If clinically there are both symptoms of lung qi deficiency and symptoms of heart qi deficiency, it is a combination of the two and heart and lung qi deficiency.
