Dampness in the body is a very common condition. There are two types of dampness. Generally, it may be caused by the influence of external pollution. In addition, it may be caused by physical illness that is not treated in time. Severe dampness in the body can often lead to weakness in the limbs and thick tongue coating. Cupping is the most common treatment method in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cupping can dredge the blood, remove dampness and detoxify. 1. How to determine whether your body is damp? 1. Oily hair 2. Oily face 3. Saliva drips when sleeping (moisture saturates and flows out on its own) 4. The stool is thick (not easy to flush away) and frequent. 5. Big belly 6. Wetness in the ear (ear Zen wetness) 7. The vagina is moist. How is [wet] formed? ① For example: going out in the morning with wet hair, going to bed at night with wet hair, taking a bath within 8 hours after scraping or cupping, taking a bath after sweating profusely after habitual exercise and not letting the sweat go away, doing scraping or cupping in the bathtub, etc. “A thousand kinds of cold are easy to get rid of, but one kind of dampness is difficult to get rid of. Dampness is sticky and turbid, like oil in flour.” Dampness and cold together are called cold-dampness, dampness and heat together are called damp-heat, dampness and wind together are called rheumatism, and dampness and heat together are called summer-dampness. If the dampness is not removed, no matter how many supplements or medicines you take, it will be like scratching an itch with a shoe or hitting a cow from a distance. Many people suffer from fatty liver, asthma, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and even malignant tumors. In fact, these diseases are related to dampness and phlegm. How to self-diagnose whether there is dampness in the body If you feel particularly tired, dizzy, and lack energy when you wake up every morning, or as if you are wearing wet clothes, feel uncomfortable all over, and are too lazy to move... then you can be sure that there is dampness in your body. When going to the toilet - look at the stool After going to the bathroom in the morning, you can observe your stool. Is it stuck to the toilet? Even a tank of water can't flush it away. If it is inconvenient to observe the toilet, you can also observe the toilet paper. Normally, one or two pieces of paper are enough. If three or five pieces of paper cannot be wiped clean after repeated wiping (this is why the medical history form asks about bowel movements), it also means that there is dampness in the body. The color and shape of the stool can also help determine whether there is dampness in the body. Normal stools are golden yellow and banana-shaped, but few people have this healthy stool nowadays. When there is dampness in the body, the stool will be blue in color, loose and soft without any shape (this is an important sign of spleen deficiency, which many people have), and there will always be a feeling of incomplete excretion. Over time, the toxins produced by stool retention accumulate in the body, causing a variety of diseases. When washing your face - look at your tongue After going to the toilet, we usually start washing. Before brushing our teeth, we might as well take a few seconds to look at our tongue in the mirror. “The tongue is the sprout of the heart and the external sign of the spleen.” The tongue can sensitively reflect our physical condition. A healthy tongue is pale pink and moist, with a thin, white and clear layer of tongue coating on the surface, with moderate dryness and wetness, neither slippery nor dry. If the tongue does not meet these indicators, it means that there is a problem with the body's functions. If the tongue coating is white and thick, and looks smooth and moist, it means that there is cold in the body; if the tongue coating is rough or very thick, yellow and greasy, it means that there is damp heat in the body; if the tongue is red and has no coating, it means that the body is already hot to a certain degree and has damaged the yin. |
