Will mastitis cause breast itching?

Many people know about mastitis, which is a common clinical disease and an inflammatory manifestation of the breast. The symptoms of mastitis are very obvious, especially redness, swelling and pain. Strictly speaking, mastitis generally does not cause symptoms such as breast itching, so you can consider whether it is a skin problem.

1. Generally speaking, if there is sudden, persistent, and severe pain in the breast accompanied by obvious tenderness, it is considered to be various acute infectious diseases of the breast; if there is local throbbing pain, local suppuration may have occurred. If breast pain is paroxysmal and often begins before menstruation or worsens during menstruation, and is relieved or disappears after menstruation, it is considered premenstrual tension syndrome. The pain is distending or stabbing, sometimes involving the ipsilateral armpit or shoulder and back. If there is mild to moderate tenderness locally, it is considered to be a proliferative lesion.

2. Itching of the breast skin is more common in allergic dermatitis. It is caused by the human body's allergies to drugs, food, physical and chemical factors, which causes itching and discomfort of the breast skin and may be accompanied by the formation of a rash. Appropriate medication such as levocetirizine tablets is needed for treatment, and most cases can gradually improve or recover.

3. Itchy changes in the local breast skin are mostly caused by inflammatory stimulation. The symptoms can be relieved through local massage or hot compress, and have no serious clinical significance. This is not a symptom of mastitis, but a symptom of dry and itchy skin.
